    another 360/408 over heating

Best combo would probably be a Champion 2 core radiator with the 1 inch rows and the Hayden 2765 fan clutch with a factory 7 blade fan and shroud. That would fit within your clearances and kick butt! I messed with various combos of electric until I switched to the above setup which made it run...

A/C with aftermarket heads and intake

Awesome, thank you! Ideally, I'd like to buy just the compressor first and work on mocking up the brackets to line everything up. any chance you have the just the compressor model #? sorry to be a pain!

Thanks for the photos! Looks like ya just need the propper dual groove pulleys now. Can you tell me what part number you bought for the Sanden Compressor/clutch assy, as well as the Classic Air kit #?

Heater Cable retainer/clip needed - Photo attached

This is actually for my '78 Dodge Street Van but figured someone in this vast sea of knowledge might be able to help me! I'm not sure of what to call it for a proper search even... It retains the cable that actuates the blend door. This photo is from a newer van but the clip should be the same...

    fan shroud question

Here's what I did: Ditched the Electric Fan for 7 Blade and Hayden Clutch # 2765 - HUGE Improvement

Do all A bodies have overheating problems?

I had same issues with various combos until I switched to a factory 7 blade fan and shroud from an A/C equipped car. I used one the the low profile Hayden Fan clutches for clearance. Problem solved! I think the fan blade you are using is your culprit at this point.

    Radiator Hose Temp Sensor Adaptor

I also used one of these with my old M1 intake that didn't have a spot for a mechanical temp sensor and it works great.

Cant keep the car cool HELP

Yes it's an old thread. But try a stock fan with fan clutch and fan shroud. Bet your problem goes away. I went through the same crap, trying all kinds of electric combos and finally ditched them for a factory fan setup. NEVER goes above 190 now. never...

Ditched the Electric Fan for 7 Blade and Hayden Clutch # 2765 - HUGE Improvement

Yea, that's part of the long-term plan.... Pulling everything out next Winter to paint the engine bay, new wiring harness, headlight relay kit, detailing, etc. I happened to come across it on a local Craigslist ad, a mile from my house! I think it was on a dart originally but not 100% sure.

    best fan option out there?

I guess I am referring specifically to the Hayden clutch that I purchased, which is indeed a therma-whatever clutch. :glasses7:

    best fan option out there?

That's a great deal. I myself would probably opt to get the new clutch, just to avoid the possibility of a bad/worn clutch. I got mine (Hayden 2765) for like $41.00 I think. Not really sure how to test one on the fly. Should spin when it's cold though and lock up more when the front spring...

    best fan option out there?

With a good fan clutch that works as it should, if the temp is creeping up even at idle, then the clutch should lock up and run at full speed with the rpm. They only run less than 100% when everything is cold,(below 170 degrees at the radiator) from what I read on the Hayden site.

    best fan option out there?

I JUST wrote up a thread on my changeover to a clutch fan setup using a factory 7 blade fan for Darts, etc. Parts # included for clutch, fan blade and shroud and sources to find them, along with how I modified a factory shroud to fit my aluminum radiator. It works awesome and my car is now...

Ditched the Electric Fan for 7 Blade and Hayden Clutch # 2765 - HUGE Improvement

Like the title says... I've been wanting to do it for a while, finally sourced the parts and modified a factory shroud to fit my Champion Aluminum radiator. The temp was always creeping up at highway speeds to 220, sometimes more until I would slow down for a while. Now it stays locked in at...

    210° @ Cruise and 180° @ Stop? What's Going On?

Lots of great ideas and info here... I just installed some 3/4" plumbing pipe insulation on top of the radiator support on my car to see if that helps, as I am having the same issue of higher temps at hwy speeds. Also ordered a lower hose spring. I have a 4000-4400 stall convertor and I am sure...

    Taurus fan on Champion radiator

True... but I think the fan actually draws more like 25-30 steady amps once it is running. I have an upgraded charging system along with the bulkhead/ammeter bypass/upgrade. I also converted the old amp gauge to a volt meter. I noticed while pulling the electric fan assembly out of the Contour...

    Taurus fan on Champion radiator

The 90-95 Taurus cars are getting harder and harder to find in the local yards, so yesterday afternoon spent some time looking at other cars at the local u-pull-it. I found the identical fan assembly on a 99 Ford Contour as pictured in this thread and scored it for $16.00. It just has different...
