I wish Rocky Mountain Dashes was still around.

You can make your own custom IP using the stock one, essentially removing the front panel and then making a new one with holes for holding the gauges. There's a How-To article here on it... Cluster. Make your own Custom Gauge cluster

Has anyone installed more modern bucket seats in their A Body??

I always wondered why it seemed my seats were off-center from the transmission tunnel... now I know it's because the tunnel is off-center! I always knew the drivetrain was offset on these cars but didn't think it was also the tunnel, makes sense.

What safe protectant to use on dash pads....

Another vote for 303, I briefly worked as a spa tech at a hot tub store (summer job, friends' parents own the place) and they used that exclusively on all the vinyl hot tub covers. Protects against sun damage very well which is important in CO, sunlight is quite a bit harsher here due to higher...

Making new partition for back seat/trunk area

My car originally came from California and AFAIK was never east of Colorado. When I got the car the driver's door panel was already gone and the passenger side was in bad shape; I broke a corner off just trying to remove it but I did save it. The trunk divider was almost impossible to get out...

Making new partition for back seat/trunk area

I think that's what I'm looking for. RPMagoo aluminum would be the best way to go but probably more expensive and not as easy to work with, also my car isn't a race car. Well at least not for now lol. adriver I will take a look at the Masonite board as well see which one I like best when I...

Making new partition for back seat/trunk area

Looks like a decent option (had to Google it didn't know what it was lol), kind of just looks like the factory stuff though...? And it does deteriorate over time, you have an idea of how much time that might be?

Making new partition for back seat/trunk area

I'm curious what some of you guys have used in place of the factory particle board crap that crumbles to dust when you touch it. I basically destroyed the original trunk divider the first time I pulled the back seats out to clean my '70 Duster. I'm thinking of some sort of "sheet" plastic...

    Factory insulation vs. Dynamat, etc.

I put that exact same stuff over the inside of the roof of my Duster since it has no headliner. Just like Martythetrimmer described it used to make a loud hollow 'boom' sound when tapping on the roof now it's a much quieter 'thunk' sound. The craziest part is how well it insulates heat on hot...

    Grant steering wheel issue

OK I couldn't wait to try the new wheel so I put it back together with the sleeve over the shaft and it works perfectly now! Thanks Badsport!

    Grant steering wheel issue

OH no I didn't I was wondering what that sleeve was for... The instructions mine came with were pretty vague and didn't show where it goes. It's about 20* out now so I'll give it a shot tomorrow lol.

    Grant steering wheel issue

I bought a Grant steering wheel with the 3314 install kit for my '70 Duster and have an issue with the metal 'block' piece that slides over the steering shaft splines... When I torque the steering shaft nut the copper contact plate on the back bottoms out on the turn signal switch and binds up...

Drilling floor/rockers for seat belt mounts?

The original point seems like it would work as the anchor for the other end of the belt, at least when mocking up my bucket seats to where my legs are comfy (pretty far back). One more hole farther back to mount the retractor looks like it would work, I just have no idea how to get behind it.

Drilling floor/rockers for seat belt mounts?

My '70 Duster originally came with a bench seat and the two-piece shoulder and lap belts. I want to install some modern retractable 3-point belts like the ones from Wesco, etc. but they all need to have another anchor point made in the side of the rocker. Is there a way to get behind the...

    Repainting gauge cluster?

Thanks guys for the replies and info, I'll try those chemicals. 2 Darts do you happen to have any pics of your instrument cluster in the car? That engine-turned stuff looks pretty cool, the carbon fiber seems like it might look OK too.

    Repainting gauge cluster?

I took my Duster's gauge cluster out to freshen it up and I want to know if there's a good way to remove the brown paint over the fake woodgrain. I want to just paint it flat black and touch up the chrome parts. How did you guys do it?

    1970 Duster seat upgrade

Hey all I'm looking to upgrade the front seats in my '70 Duster from the stock split-bench low-back seats. I kinda want to keep the bench so is it possible to swap the seat backs with something taller and more supportive/comfortable? I don't want to fly out the door when I take a hard corner...

remove heat?? yes or no opinions

The heater in my Duster sucked too until I flushed the heater core, fixed all of the vacuum lines, installed a new HVAC control box, and put in a new thermostat. Now it works great. I don't think removing the heater is worth the small weight loss. I'd only ever remove the heater if I was...

Why do the steering wheels seem so big on these A-bodies?

Your stock steering box is probably just worn out, though even from the factory they weren't that great. I got a Firm Feel Stage 2 P/S box and have yet to try it out but I'm sure the feel will be much better. Before I could drive with one finger on the wheel spoke. The steering wheels are...
