Help 1972 Duster/Scamp bucket seat foam

Hit a local textile store and you can buy different densities of foam and different sizes. They might even be able to cut it into shape for you. And it's cheap.

    1970 Duster

I don't have any pics of how they mount. The holes are in the cluster and the gauges slip through from the outside and use that C bar inside to hold them in place like any gauge. The hole is the size of the gauge body and the bezel keeps it from going through. This isn't really a Duster, it's a...

    1970 Duster

I got mine from Fastlanewest but the plastic is really flimsy. I'm going to make my own out of a stock cluster. I'm going to cut out the back and glue in a new backing with custom holes for gauges. The Fastlanewest unit was $755 and it included the electric sending unit for the transmission...

What kind of car? I can get a pic of my Buick right now, but if you need a Mopar, I'll have to run home first. :-)

    Instrument Bezel repairs

I have had incredible luck with the incredibly smelly two part 60 second plastic epoxy that NAPA sells. You can glue with it, build up a layer for strength, or even mold a shape to it if you are quick enough.

Cheap sound deadener / heat insulation???

I have seen posts where people found cheap Dynamat like stuff at Menards and such, but I couldn't find them in the search function. I used Dynamat in my car, but my buddy builds Fiero's with 3.8 supercharged motors and the heat is unbelievable. He wants to find some cheap stuff to try and see if...

    plastic lens buffing

We do a lot of it here at the shop. I can tell you that the more time you put into it, the better it will look and last. We use a 3M kit and you are basically sanding them smooth. It works very well if you are willing to spend the time.

    Headliner replacement

With enough ingenuity anything will work, but it is not made to use bow style headliners. I have the same thing in my Dart. I am going to take it out and try furnace tape repair and then a vinyl covering. It all depends on how it comes out of the car.

    sound deadening/carpet materials suggestions…?

I bought Dynomat really cheaply on Amazon. I bought $120 worth and did the whole interior and the doors. I bought another one I want to do the trunk with, I just haven't got around to it. I can actually have a conversation inside my car now, where before you had to yell.

    Looking for a new headliner

That's exactly what I was thinking. I hope it's in good enough shape. I'll have to take it out soon in case I need to buy a new one. Spring is coming!

    Looking for a new headliner

I may try to repair mine. The furnace tape is a good idea. It is cracking at the creases. My original (maybe?) has no cloth, just a pebbled surface painted black. I thought about covering it, and I think I'll take it out and see what kind of shape it's in before I commit. I found one this...

    Looking for a new headliner

I don't want the shoulder harness holes and mine is splitting at the bends and is crumbling at spots. It is not going to come out in one piece. Otherwise I might have tried that. I have made many of my own panels before.

    Looking for a new headliner

I was browsing around this summer and found a headliner for my car for about $125 - $135 which I thought was a good price. I didn't order it because I figured to wait for the fall and make it a winter project. Stupid me, I don't remember where it was. I thought it was Dante's, but it's not. I...

    Dying Interior parts??

Every time I see this post I can help but wonder if they pulled through or if they died. I painted all my interior with plastic paint. It looks great.

Blacked out my dash - looks good

When I bought the car, the PO had primed the dash frame and only painted the bottom third. He also painted the center panel wood grain black, but not the glove box wood grain. I got tired of seeing primer and the mismatched dash. I took it all apart and painted it black, then painted the panels...

What will make 1973 Dart rear package shelf black again?

I have a repop I bought from an unnamed company that was supposed to fit my Dart Sport. It is way too big and I suspect it fits a Swinger. They were weenies and won't admit their mistake and won't take it back. I'd be happy to sell it cheap. It does me no good and is gathering dust. We would...

    plastic paint???

I painted most of my interior trim with Krylon plastic paint. I looks fantastic, but it is not as durable as I would have liked. It doesn't chip easily, but the plastic upper panel on the driver's door gets little nicks and marks from me using it to open and close the door. The untouched pieces...

    Speedo help

I agree, the length is definitely no longer than necessary. I got mine by lining it up as best I could and finally pressing it in place with a pry bar. My cable was new and I knew the clip was intact. It just wouldn't go on. It took a lot of sweat and swearing, but I finally got it. Then my...

Hidden Secret Stealth IPOD MP3 Stereo

I just dropped an Alpine in the dash, Infiniti Kappa front and rear and a nice amp. My iPod plugs in the deck. It rocks very well, and I am adding another amp and sub this spring. AC/DC has never sounded so good!

    Best new dash pad?

I would have to look up where I got mine, but it was like $225 and has a steel core - rebuilt off a Mopar pad. It fit just fine and looks nice. This picture is old, as I put my new Fastlanewest dash in since then.
