Maybe. They look like long tube truck headers though. Maybe it's the close up and out of the vehicle that makes it look like that, but I don't remember my tubes being that long. Also, you don't say what motor, tranny, etc. What did they come off of? You must have had some idea before you bought...

My TTi headers were $811 plus shipping. They still look new 7 years later. I was going to mention trying CudaChick1968, but someone beat me to it.

The issue as I see it is that these are welded in. When they fail, and at some point everything fails, you are cutting them out and replacing pipe. I would prefer bolt in flange style if I can do it.

Or I can sell you my 440 Ramcharger headers and you can call it even.

X2. Ultra copper RTV seals headers like nothing else. Just a little on either side of the gasket.

Vacuum operated? I've not seen those. who makes them, and have they worked well for you?

I have been leaning towards DMH. I have heard good things about them. I don't mind having another switch in the car. I have a pretty good breathing 408 with three inch exhaust, so I don't expect much of a gain in power, but I want the 100 audio horsepower the unholy noise will give me.

Anyone had any experience? I know they all will rattle and leak a bit with time. That's the cost of running cutouts. I'm looking for real life experience, good or bad. What brand is the best?

I don't care what they say, if you close off half your exhaust flow, you don't breathe, and that will lower your power. You go to headers precisely for their increased flow in the first place. My TTi were custom ordered for my motor, heads, transmission and starter and I still had to tweak them...

I had to raise my motor about a half inch to clear the idler, and I do have $800 headers. The cost doesn't make them fit any better, but they give you other benefits. Mine also hit the steering shaft at the joint. Raising the motor fixed all my problems.

I use TTi under chassis headers on my stroker. Four plus years and they still look new and have never had a leak.

I would take .2 extra. What brand did you install? That's the biggest question. I want a good, long lasting cutout for the best price available.

They aren't legal here in Minnesota. Neither is loud exhaust, street racing, bumpers over a certain height, etc.... It's all look the other way enforcement. If you piss off a cop, he will probably give you a ticket, but if you piss off a cop you probably deserve it.

That's worse than mine. Did you buy the headers direct from TTi? When I bought mine they asked what motor, what heads, what starter and what transmission. They fit for the most part. I had to do a little massaging to get them in place. Napa also has relocators that work well.

I can post my TTi 3" with dual Flowmaster 40's, but every engine is different and will sound different.

It won't stop the smell, and most carb running motors run rich enough to take out a cat in a very short time. You can buy stuff to put in your fuel to make it smell pretty, like cherry, bubble gum, etc. Expensive, but cool at a car show.
