    5.7 Hemi in a Duster

I guess I misunderstood your tone, typically people would word that statement differently but Ill let that go.. its not like its my place to judge anyone here anyhow. Id consider everyones ideas around here, even those who would rather build their engine on their own, I know I would. Ryan

    5.7 Hemi in a Duster

I was referring to the comment you made about moper. He starts his post by saying "Please dont get me wrong." You consider his words and decide to respond with a childish comment like this.. "A core block w/ heads isn't $5000..................maybe near you, but a guy like you would just...

The title says it all, any information pertaining to this subject would be appreciated! I've been researching on it for a while now but having trouble finding stuff. Jesel and T&D are a few names coming up fairly often in my searches, if thats any help to anyone else. Ryan

    mopar lifters

The first year where the hydraulic roller cam was used stock on a 360 was 1988.. they went on through 1992, and then the transfer was made to the new 5.2 and 5.9 magnum blocks which would all maintain the hydraulic cam stock. An older 1988-1992 block would be a good starting spot for a roller...

Hey smart engine guys... can you help me?

Cerwin, block weights would fluctuate year to year, depending on the cast. The earlier 71-74 blocks would weigh more, due to the fact they have a thicker cylinder wall. Later blocks would be lighter, but also couldnt be overbored as much, the magnum block is the lightest as of now, I believe is...

    About the 340

The 340 has a smaller main journal compared to the 360 which can lead to less friction, and a lighter weight crank(quicker rev's in some cases). 2.500" to 2.810" respectively.

Engine Build Help Small Block Guys

Block: what year is the block? I trust its been examined for cracks and everything? the block is important, look into it, not something to be cheap on. Rods: shot peened, and redone for floating pin stock rods sounds good. they should hold fine. Pistons: SPS bolts? no idea.. cast pistons...

    Which 360?

If it is an original block, the 71-74(thats the right years?) cores are supposed to have stronger/thicker cylinder wall. As far as the truck block, I really dont know. Good luck to you  Ryan

340 replacement block.. with a roller cam?

hrmmm... care to elaborate on that? Id really like to take a 59-degree route with a 340 replacement block, but a roller cam seems the way to go for performance, and Im looking into a street/strip dealy. Something to take to shows, but be able to put the rubber to the ground and run mid to low...

340 replacement block.. with a roller cam?

recently read 340 rep blocks wont work with a roller cam, and neither does a R-block, keep in mind this is the 59 degree tappets, not a 48 degree block, with 48 it should be fine, the main problem being the close tappets next to a already beefed up block means no room for the spider to hold the...
