You can just use any cap because the cap is machined to the rod. You will need another rod or have it resized with another cap if the original cap can't be found.

What motor do you have now? If it is a big block you are in business but if it isn't pull out some more money for a tranny.

Why would you consider using used lifters? Until you see if the block needs bored you won't know if you can even use those pistons if they are good. You just need to be ready to spend what it takes to get to what hp you want. The more hp the more $$$$.

There is a modification that allows you to use LBP wheels with the factory Kelsey Hayes 4 piston caliper. You use Mustang rotors. The entire process with very detailed information is right here on FABO.

Thanks for helping me understand the process. I never had access to anyone that did that line of work. I just sent everything out and had the short block built and the heads reworked. I like OEM cars so I personally never modify from factory equipment unless a car was just too molested to go...

Do they just line bore the caps? I thought the block and caps had to be installed together for the line bore and you would be removing the same amount of material from the block and the caps. I am no machinist so please explain where my thoughts are off. I do realize that the job is only as good...

This may be a stupid statement so someone correct my thinking if I am wrong. If an engine is line bored correctly then the correct size bearing would be used and would still have everything centered back to the original location? I am thinking with logic and not hands on so clue me in.

Personally I would shop around for a junk motor home with a good engine and use it. I have a 360 in a motor home that has 37,000 original miles that I got for $250.00.
