    OPINIONS ON EXHAUST SOUND

Forgive me for not being up on the current technology, but this thread reminded me of how i loved the 2.5 Hush Thrush cans back in my day. Little if any drone, not to loud under full throttle, and the idle was just right to hear the cam out back plus the nice ring up front from the header tubes...

    Horsepower and Exhaust specs

Cool! I didn't know it was for a B body. I think a 3" with the right mufflers is just about right for you. I wish I could make a recommendation on the mufflers, but all the good modern stuff is way after my time :). I always leaned toward the quiet side with my exhaust picks, mainly so I could...

    Horsepower and Exhaust specs

Wazoo, is this on your 64'? Now doubt a 3"-3 1/2" will make more big end power, but what will comfortably fit under a "early A" with the GV & air ride? Let's face it, your making huge power as is, and the big pipes would definitely increase the decibels.....Maybe more then your comfortable with...

do i really need 3" exhaust

Rod, you'll have more power on the street then you could ever really use regardless of the exhaust size. If you're more comfortable with the 2 1/2 pipes, go for it. It will certainly be quieter then the 3's and you can always open them at the track if you want to get the most out of your combo...

    witch way to go?

For the most part, a full bodied muffler will make more power then a glasspack with the same input/output diameter in my experience. And i don't personally care for glasspack's. But with that said, i don't know that there is enough difference if you really like the GP sound? P.S. Just to...

340 drivers side exhaust manfold question

Sounds like you have the "553" hp manifold. They bring some big bucks used. Whatever you do, don't toss it. It could possibly be repaired by a reputable welding shop.

    Flowmaster drone

X3......only behind the mufflers. Loud is a lot easier to fix then drone. Sometimes you can get rid of it and sometimes you only move it around......lol. Just getting it out of your normal cruise rpm itself can be a big relief. I'm sure you've done this, but make sure all the...

    How long would they last?

Me too guys, that's what i'd do it for..... Not sure how long they would last on the street, condensation would probably eat'um up pretty quick. Not to mention they woudn't flow anywhere near what a smooth piece of tubing would.

Catalytic converter to help exhaust fume smell

A mild, stock, daily driver type car should not have very much smell to begin with? Maybe your carb is too rich or your choke is not functioning properly? I serious doubt a cat will help your situation. P.S. Welcome to the site........would like to see some pics of your ride.

The 3148623 may be correct for a pass side 71'. I'm getting more confused the more i researched....lol. Hopefully a member with a matching number car will chime in. Once the numbers are determined, finding a set may be a even bigger hurdle. Good Luck in your search.

    Header Dilemma 371 Stroker

That a great idea, you the man. Lock, the more i look around the more i see most street cars don't do much other then cutting out the minimum amount and letting it eat. Would be nice to have some luck with crackedback's idea. That would be the best solution.

    Header Dilemma 371 Stroker

I think you need to chat with member, pettybluedart. He's running 10's and has fenderwell headers and i'm not sure if he has reinforced or not. If you do a member search im sure he has some photos. I found a few picks so far but neither is probably what you would be looking for.

    Header Dilemma 371 Stroker

Is this a track only or street strip car. There are plenty of people running no inners, but you need to reinforce from the firewall to the rails for strength. Header Dilemma 371 Stroker

As per the net, W2's cast after early 2002 were single pattern only. Wonder if these could be welded in place of a standard flange. If you click on the number they have blueprint specs. http://www.schoenfeldheaders.com/mflanges.htm
