It’s Winter. Let’s discuss strokers. How much faster

So, if you were to add 1/4" stroke to the crank, and all else remains the same in the engine, would adding some length to the camshaft duration be worthwhile in order to take full advantage of the longer stroke?

Struggling at high rpm above 6000

I had the same issue in my 65 A-990 Hemi car back in the day. It took some trial and error with many things that have been mentioned in this thread. Nothing worked. 5500 rpm and it started misfiring. I spoke with Warren Barnett at Barnett Race Cars and he told me to upgrade the wiring to the MSD...

    Cam grinder/manufacturer opinions

I ran the Racer Brown SSH-44 camshaft in 3 different 426 Hemi cars. That old cam flat out worked. It woke those engine up. Strong all the way through the rpm band.....

Single plane vs dual plane intake

I agree. Trying to eek out every last ounce of power/torque that might be in an engine means that there are trade offs. Tire height, rear gears, vehicle weight, cubic inches, camshaft, compression ratio, intended use of the car, etc..... You have to look at the entire picture to make decisions...

Single plane vs dual plane intake

You might be right. I have always heard that because of the unequal plenum sizes and runner lengths, it was difficult to get flow velocity and A/F ratios close from cylinder to cylinder.

Single plane vs dual plane intake

I have also heard that the dual planes are very hard to get even A/F ratios from cylinder to cylinder like you can with a single plane.

    comp cams lifters

If it was only the lifter that was damaged, it wouldn't be such a big deal. But when the lifters fail, so mush expensive collateral damage is done. That's what sucks...

Camshafts, idle quality, driveability and LSA-REAL WORLD EXP and OPINION

Time for my dumb question. I have been following along in this thread and I have a question for you cam guys. Assuming and engine is 340 CI and is running "Cam-X" and it works great. Now let's make that same engine 400 CI. IF we got to the new CI by a longer stroke, wouldn't you need a longer...

race to pump gas mix and converter stall?

I do that very thing in my 572 - 11.5-1 Hemi Cuda. Around here, the only ethanol free gas is 90 octane. The pump gas 93 octane gas has minimum 10% ethanol. I think the OP's combo would be iffy at best on 90 octane gas. Same with mine. So, I do the following: I buy a drum of VP - 110 racing fuel...

Valve Cover Bolt fails to bottom out....

If nothing has changed and those are the bolts that came out of the head, I would suspect that oil got in the bolt hole and partially filled the hole with oil. Oil is not compressible, thus the bolt goes partially into the hole and stops. You can check it with a Q-Tip. Stick a Q-Tip into the...

Fresh 360 breaking up at low RPM'S.

Check your battery/alternator voltage. Low voltage to the ignition under load will cause that issue. Also make sure that all electrical connections and grounds are tight.
