    Dual quad info

Wow, don't know how I missed this. Yes, valve covers, air cleaner, and breathers are red wrinkle paint. Not many people catch the badges. Looks like you're making a lot of headway! I don't know your engine specs but mine has some shake to it at idle like in your video and and it idles around...

    Dual quad info

Hi performance mechanical fuel pump works fine. I think a stock pump should be OK. You'll need a regulator to keep the pressure in check, Eddys seem to be sensitive to too much pressure. The Lokar throttle cable, kickdown cable and mounting bracket saves a lot of headaches. My pic from back on...

    Dual quad info

They're Eddy 1405's. The progressive linkage makes the throttle a real smooth transition and the Lokar throttle and kickdown cables and bracket take a lot of headaches out of the setup.

Air Cleaner is Edelbrock - Edelbrock 1235 Edelbrock Pro-Flo Series Air Cleaners | Summit Racing The air cleaner base has a slightly longer spacing than the carb's spacing. I made base gaskets that still seal it. The carb air cleaner stud holes had to be slightly modded.

    Dual quad info

Mine is a '74 360 HP stock compression, Hughes Whiplash cam, headers. Nothing crazy. It had a Performer RPM intake that was changed to the same dual quad you are putting on. The performance difference is unnoticeable. Fuel line is similar to - Edelbrock 8088 Edelbrock Dual-Quad Fuel Line Kits |...

    Mounting fuel pressure gauge

I don't know what car you're working on so I'll wing it with a response. You can reach the underside of the cowl by taking off the fresh air box under the dash. It isn't that hard. If I'm doing what you're trying to accomplish I would drill and tap a plate with the bolt spacing you need. Then...

    Carb or efi

My '69 Dart has an engine setup a little more hopped up than what you are building. It had a 650 DP with no choke. No matter whether it's a cold morning or after driving it hard and it gets heat soaked it starts up easily every time. It ran great with the only minor issues being a flat spot mid...

Is elec. choke needed on dual quads

I don't run the choke on my 360 dual quad setup. The only problem I have with starting my 360 is my carbs are usually dry from sitting for a while without being started. Once I have gas it starts right up. Then I have to feather the throttle for about 30-45 seconds til it's warmed up enough. The...

    Air Cleaner issues

I have a 340 with an Eddy Airgap, 1" spacer and Holley 650 so basically the same setup as you. My 14" drop base is about 1 1/2" drop. My hood closes fine. ('69 Dart). It is very close. I run a torque strap so the engine torqueing doesn't dimple the hood. Remove the 1" spacer to see if that...

    Rich idle, would this help?

Mad Dart/Cannucky-I read the links. The problems and fixes seem like what I need but they are using the billet metering blocks. In the original post on YellowBullet the OP talks about going back to the "old style" metering block, like mine. Mine are cast and I don't see how it could be modded as...

    Rich idle, would this help?

I tweeked this carb to death. I checked the vacuum in gear. Changed the power valves as needed. I checked for vacuum leaks. Nothing found. I did put permatorque gaskets on over the winter. The old gaskets were permatorque also. After all the comments on low vacuum maybe thicker intake gaskets...

    Rich idle, would this help?

Snake, I have read many differing opinions on this subject. I have checked many different sources and have come up with - the power valve has no affect on the idle circuit. I'm all ears if you have an opinion you want to share. Once I get the vacuum checked correctly I will choose the power...

    Rich idle, would this help?

Updates-installed the fuel pressure regulator set to 6 psi. Changed the oil mainly because it was time for it but also to address any fuel washing issues. The idle mixture screws were set to 1 1/2 turns then tweaked for highest rpm. After all the tweaking I ended up almost at 1 1/2 turns anyway...

    Rich idle, would this help?

Mark, I picked up a regulator and oil a few days ago. That's one of this week's projects. That's where I'm starting the troubleshooting. From there I'll check for vacuum leaks and recheck the vacuum at idle in gear. We'll see how it goes from there.

    Rich idle, would this help?

Been playing with cars for years. The only other car I had with this problem was a '70 Challenger with a built 383. I had to drill the butterflies on the Eddy carb. My '74 Cuda with a mild 360 and dual quad intake and 625 Eddys runs and idles perfectly. While I'm not an expert at carbs I'm not...

    Rich idle, would this help?

crackedback- The idle circuit is working fine with the idle mixture screws. Floats are fine, no booster leaks. 340 fastback-I'm happy to hear this worked for you and was suggested by your engine guy. Now I know its got some validity. I agree with crackedback that this isn't some radical...

    Rich idle, would this help?

Trailbeast-so the benefit is it can be tweeked instead of guessing what size hole to drill. Sounds like a win to me. Pntastar69-Pretty close to eye burning. Mechanical pump. 8-9 pounds of pressure. Floats set correctly. Before the carb rebuild I noticed the secondary squirters would drip a...

    Rich idle, would this help?

I'll start this thread by saying-Yes I did search, and research this issue. My 340 has a problem with the idle being overly rich at idle. The carb is a 650 cfm mech secondary Holley. The car runs really well but has always been rich at idle. I rebuilt the carb and still have the same problem...

I might have finally gone completely nuts

For the time and material needed to just build the valley and flanges I think it would be easier to buy a cheap air gap intake and cut the carb base and runners off. Then you can get ideas and parts here, including EFI. http://ingleseinductionsystems.com/# Yeah, maybe a little nuts...

    phenolic vs wood carb spacer

There are phenolic plastic and phenolic wood spacers. The phenolic wood ones are a super-compressed laminate that seems to have some sort of sealer on it. I can't say which one would have better heat insulating properties. They both have to be better than aluminum. I'm a slow typer...

What EFI setup are you running?

Wow, thanks for the write-up 1967'cuda. I was thinking about efi and was leaning towards FAST EZ EFI. They make it sound like all you have to do is plug it in. Should take just a few hours. It's good to see what it takes in the real world. I need to research this more now.

    info on throttle linkage

While I can't tell you what part exactly will fix your problem, what you need is more of a lever effect. It's a Holley carb so you need the Holley bracket made for mopars that raises the throttle cable and gives it more range.
