My setup is the same as yours. I installed a rigging pin in the brackets aft of the carb, pulled up on the linkage from the trans, adjusted the rod end linkage as required, which was off about 6 turns. I think it should be good. Will test drive tomorrow and report here.

I added the Phenolic .500 thick.

Can you give me some idea where to make the adjustment at? I'm looking at the throttle linkage adjustment section of my shop manual.

I did not unhook any transmission linkage. I did have to adjust the accelerator cable slightly (clamp slide) because with the carb raised the cable pulled the throttle open slightly.

All, I added a spacer under my carb on my 340 to help with heat. I noted after installing the spacer the transmission does not down shift to passing gear when I go to WOT. As noted in the subject line the car has a 727 with floor mounted shifter.

Well both main bearings are bad and there is some damage to the throw out bearing. We are going to replace all of them and the pressure plate.

New cable and (RED) 36 tooth pinion installed with new packings. Inital test all is well. Now to have the throw out bearing and pressure plate replaced. Thanks all for your help

Yea, I will drop the car off to have the throw out bearing replaced next week.

Guys, I menat to mention the other night. The oil that did drip/rn from tranny smelled horrible. I can still smell it in the garage 2 days later. I almost smells liked it's burned. It did look burned but man does it stink. Please advise. Thx

I do need a pinion. The one I took out is really torn up and the color is green. It is marked a 34. The setting on the adapter was 26 to 31. Please advise. Greg A

I have 3:55 gears running P245/60R14 BF Goodrich Tires.

Should I assume pulling the adapter will drain the tranny?

Mine is currently set at 26 - 32. With that I assume I can use the the 26, 27 or 32 tooth pinion.

Also, I'm thinking of replacing the pinion while I got it off. Is the factory correct size 26, 27 or 32 teeth? I have the factory size 14 in wheels. Thx

I have oil leaking at the speedo cable to the transmission. Should I pull the speedo pinion and adapter and replace the oil seal and O ring?

Will the transmission drain the oil when I remove the bolt, retainer and adapter out of the transmission before I disconnect the speedo cable from the adapter? Thanks all.
