    Guide to Poverty Cap Applications

The official name is hub caps. But since that has been confused with full wheelcovers for a century now, it's best to use a different name to avoid confusion. Dog dish caps & poverty caps are other names for them, and I prefer the latter, but either one works.

    Guide to Poverty Cap Applications

I have made an adapter and it works really well and is very easy to do. Just purchase some 1/2" outer diameter spacers from McMaster and weld them onto the small cap wheel nubs. All of the large caps will then work on it, except for the "Late '56 Dodge" caps, which are even larger for some reason.

    Guide to Poverty Cap Applications

12many: Thanks for the truck cap picture. I'm am working on a truck version, starting with '55-'61, but it's a lot harder than the car versions. Not sure when or if I can get it done. Matthon: It's possible that the early '67 Plymouth A-bodies might have used the '66 wide C-body cap before the...

    Guide to Poverty Cap Applications

Thanks, do you have some proof that this is true for '68 Plymouth B-bodies? It could be that the wheel you are referring to was used on the deep dish C-bodies in '68. I can understand a few B-bodies, here and there, that might have used a deep dish wheel, but not all of them as you are saying...

    1966 Valiant Dog Dish Caps

Thanks, those do make sense, given that the same part number was listed on '65-'66 Newports. But if so, then what was the application for the black ones? It isn't part no. 2768042 for the '66 Plymouth deep dish wheels as Ebay claims. Because those would have to be the small 9" caps, similar to...

    1966 Valiant Dog Dish Caps

According to the parts book, the '66 Valiant dog dish or poverty cap has a unique, 1 year only part number 2534845 than the '63-'65 Valiant caps 2401843. Does anyone know what this unique '66 cap looks like? Thanks.

    64-67 Barracuda Dog Dish Caps

Can anyone confirm which dog dish cap would have been used on the '67 Barracuda? Would it have been the same as the valiant cap or would it have used one like this picture? What about '64-'66? Would they have used the valiant cap or something else?

    My new rims and tires

I really like the orange/black combo. If you want to tuck the rear tires further into your wheelwell, you wouldn't necessarily have to shorten the axle. You could get wheels with a different offset to move the tire in - that is if they are available. You would probably have to move the leafs...
