What's a good rear end to put in my Duster?

I highly doubt a 7.25 would die behind a mild 360.........I mean, I daily drive one.....and do regular burnouts....dry/wet/where-ever.....:protest: If we are talking about setting a Duster up for 450+ ft lbs of torque, and some serious Track outtings.....no doubt., Go B-Body 8...

    FLEXPLATE?? Stock or B&M????

I would go with a SFI approved flexplate if you are building a "performance base street driver" and have not installed the engine/trans yet....its good insurance like stated above.

    Overdrive

What it does is split the internal transmission gear ratios 50%...therefore making a 727 3 speed automatic a 6...

    8 3/4 or ford 9 in.

Yeah, so I confused the Tapered 489 Carrier with the 742 thick straight pinion shaft. I posted misinformation...out of forgetfulness....I knew the tapered pinion was the stronger, I just don't mess with carriers enough to REALLY know ALL the details all the time. Get a Custom built DANA 60...

    8 3/4 or ford 9 in.

Thats strange...you have 10 posts here, you come on a Mopar Board and ask if you should use a FORD differential over a Mopar.. A 741 8.75" carrier is proven to be stronger than a stock 9" Ford. A 489 carrier will handle 600 hp. A 742 carrier has the largest and strongest Pinion...and I...
