    thanks for the 60 wireing diagram that may help. There is no firewall bulk head like my barracuda has. It's much simpler .that picture is of a Ford starter cylinoid. The starter cylinoid in car is like the one in my 65 barracuda. Except it has two wires on top for the neutral safety switch.

    I had this happen on my Barracuda years ago. Under the dash is the main thick red ignition wire that goes to the wiring bulkhead on firewall.     Both. Key only gets power to fan and wipers lights. Motor turns over by jumping posts on starter or starter cylinoid but needs a jump lead from battery to coil to stay running

    Touch the two posts on the starter together. If it turns over problem is between the starter and the key. Could be bad ignition switch.
