    Dual Webers?

You don't know me from Adam, I don't know you from Jack. Even so, your opinion is worth a golden brick to me. I've seen the wake of broken hearts and bowtie-shaped puddles of tears that Mad Max slant 6 car leaves behind. Slant 6 it is.

    Dual Webers?

I'm figuring that out. 440 Source has a killer 451 kit for $2k. I've got a 400ci block and 727 already. I have no idea what direction I want to take this in. Once I start spending the coin, though, there's no turning back.

    Dual Webers?

Side draft, huh? Point me towards it. I cashed in a CD. Come Monday, I'll have a cool five grand to dump into the Valiant. Already got the suspension and brakes figured out, just need to see 1: exactly how strong I can make a slant on that budget and 2: How that will compare to the price of a...

    Dual Webers?

Should I get this setup or would I be better off with a Hurricane or a Clifford unit? For a street/strip car, assume money is no object.

I wouldn't let those "power pipes" within a country klick of my car. :puke:

Amsoil to do a /SIX engine challenge?

"I'm thinkin' the 440 RoadRunner should take the win..." RRRRROOOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRR! "...the RoadRunner trying to close in...!" Anybody got a video of a N/A 318 doing that?

wow, I guess it doesn't get much better than that.

    Cheapest ways to increase power

Think about it, man: you're not gonna be satisfied with a stock small block. You're going to wanna make that faster, too. When you get finished spending all that coin and dust some clown in a Rustclang at the strip, you'll have done it with a V8, and that's cool, but imagine building a 225...

    Cheapest ways to increase power

Head work. Get a valve job and mill it .100, then blend the bowls and clean up the runners at home for free. Slap a SuperSix intake on that beeyotch (there's an intake and carb on ebay right now for $200) and you'll be surprised at how it wakes that 225 up. The best part is that if you get a...

Slant 6 to survive canadian winter ???

While I can't really give you a cut and dry answer, and our comparatively mild North Carolina winters are nowhere near yours, I can tell you that it's 18 degrees here right now and my stock 1bbl 225 will fire right up, ice cold.

    I must have this.

    I'd appreciate some intake suggestions

Yeah, I hear you. I figured I could scoop up the intake and get a Weber carb every now and then as my wallet permitted or I could spend around $200 for a used Clifford on ebay. This engine is getting done right if it takes me a decade. I probably should have mentioned that my Valiant is my dd...

Whoooo! $425!? That"s a lot of jack for a blue collar hick such as myself.:angry7:

    I'd appreciate some intake suggestions

Quick and simple: From a performance standpoint, should I buy an intake for the triple Webers ($200 +shipping) or get the Clifford 4bbl manifold?

    /6 dual exhaust. bad idea?

There are alot of split exhaust manifolds. Cliffors makes 'em, AusieSpeed makes 'em, you can get old Hyper Pak manifolds (good luck)... etc.

    How much?

I paid $100 for a 40k mile 225 and 904 that looks and runs like new. I got a greasy old spare for free. I did pay $150 for one once before I knew any better (and that turned out to be a 170; the guy was real cool though and gave me my money back and a good 904 for my trouble).

    Sneaky Sleeper /6 Build

I don't think that would work since the 170 is a low deck block and the 225 crank is obviously for the higher deck and with a way-too-long stroke (a whole inch). The 225 crank and rods will go in the 198 making it a... 225. A 198 crank and 170 rods will fit the 170, but you have to grind the...

    Sneaky Sleeper /6 Build

I knew I didn't like the look of that crank!! The stroke looked awful short to me. ...so I scraped the crud from the side of the block and the casting confirmed my worst fear: 170 c.i.d. :angry7: '65 date casting... matching numbers from a '72 Dart my pink, rebel pecker! Back to the...

    Sneaky Sleeper /6 Build

Update: I got the crank pulley off. The trick, you ask? Curse. Alot. If you just badmouth it real loud and throw a wrench (note: it's absolutely imperative that you knock over a bucket of carb cleaner), the thing'll just pop right off.

I'll probably find a later head with the hardened seats and port it myself. What kind of output are you getting with that engine in the picture? Does that carb clear the hood?

    Sneaky Sleeper /6 Build

Right now it's got a Holley single barrel. As for picking a carb, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. I'll pick the best one for the engine, but I have to figure out exactly what direction I'm taking first. I'm sort of groping in the dark because I have ZERO slant 6 experience and I...
