    checking cam lobe taper/nitriding lobes

from what I read on the utube chats I'm gonna need it and it is a howards cam, its just that one of the vids said that comp cams offers nitriding & hopefully that is for any cam that you send in not just for one of theirs. I'll give em a call.

    checking cam lobe taper/nitriding lobes

cant go roller (rules) plus its pricey. I want to have a successful breakin with failures being epidemic. been watching some utube vids & they talked about miking the lobe taper & one mentioned that comp cams can nitride a cam. what are your thoughts? thank you for your time. RR

    priming the oil pump

I took the dampener diameter (7.25") times Pi (3.1416) = 22.7766" circumference. divide that by 360 gives 0.0632683" for each degree & times 20 degrees would be 1.625" around the dampener. Am I wrong on this?

    Headers for a A body

Professor, to confirm, the hedman 78500 shorties will not fit an early A? I have a 63 A 360 with EQ iron heads (I understand the ex port is a bit different). I have a set of those hedmans not yet installed. I mocked up some magnum ex manifolds but I had to jack up the eng to clear the steering...

    360 windage tray

(FWIW) just saw a utube vid where they opinionated that a windage tray keeps critical oil splash from the cam, critical on cam breakin. tho sure wouldn't be practical to breakin with out it then open things up & add it.

    oiling plumbing/teflon tape useage?

OK, the tape is tall so I might need to cut it lengthwise to shorten the height & use it one or two threads back from the start. OK to use some on the ferrule?

    oiling plumbing/teflon tape useage?

I am going to add an oiling gallery bypass copper tube (1/4 NPT/3/8 tubing). the guy made no mention of useing this tape but another vid swears by it for no leaks (tho it was a water pipe plumbing app). I'm a little skeptical of it as I dont want to contaminate my oil but I thought I'd ask, use...

    intake installation dilemma

I did use thread sealant (the 1st time, shoulda this time). I did one bolt at a time but the alum intake is wider at that point so I had to bend it outward toward the fender & this tilted the 2nd bolt hole but tightening that bolt in that hole bent the hole flush with the bolt head so all done...

    intake installation dilemma

good comprehensive thoughts. I did goop the bolts on install. I will try & tighten the bracket with one bolt as much as I can & still be able to swing it around for the other bolt if I can. most of the bolts I couldn't get a torque wrench on so I guestimated how tight I got em (in order)so they...

    intake installation dilemma

I just put an alum intake on my 360. I didn't realize until afterward that I forgot to put the throttle bracket under the 2 bolts in the drivers rear. can I remove the bolts & finish it out or do I have to redo everything? I used permatex #2 the brown goo on the ports and RTV on the water ports...

I didn't soak it in the tank but I did pour a good amount of solvent into the "bowl". I remember pics of those old dists with the oil tube on the side.
