Hank, toplscuda is correct that per your pic, you DO NOT have the top door edge moldings on your car.

Yes, those appear to be the door alignment wedges.

The metal rod pulls out of the visor itself. To install a new rod, simply push the new rod into the old visor. There is no need to remove the rod from the base unless there is something wrong with either piece.
