    The carb is a carter BBD 2 bbl. Typically used on all 318's. Just below the driver cylinder head is a series of numbers, like PM 318......which means it a 318, or PM 340....a 340, clean the block surface and let the numbers speak for them selves! The car pictured is a true 340 car as well...

    With the small primaries and large secondaries this carb is a good street choice. You will have excellent low end throttle response with very good top end power. Hopefully you have the choke set up as well. This works nice for the cold start and when the choke pull off is working correctly...

    How long have you owned your car?

    I've owned my 65 since the summer of '69. I drove it to HS. Now I drive it like I stole it, and not afraid to break it. Next my '67 Barracuda Formula "S" 383. I've owned this car since 1978. Bought it in a basket, roasted it...and it came out smelling like a rose!

    driveshaft problems?

    separate your problems, heat? where is the exhaust system? headers,h-pipe? all are close to the floor, heat will travel up to the tunnel, i would not worry about the heat so much as the vibration. with a dial indicator, have you checked run out of the d.s.? is the shaft an original one, swap...
