    318 build up

I think if I was building a 318 and going to buy good pistons anyway I would spend the few extra bucks and buy a 4" crank for it.($400) Then its a 388 and no lack of torque. Otherwise I would build it just like rumnlefish360 suggested.

    Bent distributer shaft?

Maybe its time to to put in an electronic distributor. It was one of the better upgrades I did to my 66 Valiant. I also put in an electronic voltage regulator and an modern alternator when I put in the electronic distributor. Here's a link to the Hei upgrade I did...

    Mopar M1 Intake

If you can find an Edelbrock LD4b thats probably the best dual plane manifold for a 318. Its a nice hi rise like the LD340 but it has smaller ports for 318's. I am not really a fan of the Performer manifold. I have had 3 performers on different cars and boats over the years, I sold them all...

    engine paint suggestion

Isn't your engine compartment supposed to be the color of the car? Sorry but I hate black engine compartments. Hopefully you didn't use spray cans or it will be pealing off at some time.

After thinking about it and rereading the post. RUN don't walk away from this joker! He sounds like a SCAM artist trying to sell junk for good money. I have 2 400 in my shed. One of them I paid $50 the other I paid $100.

    318 4 barrel question.

If you can find an LD4 Edelbrock manifold get one, its a great manifold for a 318. (a lot like a LD340 ) It has the correct port size for a 318 and has a holley flange. I have never really liked the carb flange on a performer. I used one on my 64 Dart with a Edelbrock 500 cfm carb.

If its been rebuild then its probably been bored .030 over. It better be cheep because it doesn't sound like a runner. A 77 block is a strong block but the crank is cast. I just sold a 440 with std. bores for $250 it was an early engine with a steel crank and 915 heads.

Need info for a hyperpac setup

My neighbor has a set of clifford headers and they fit fine on his 66 Barracuda, w/ manual steering. Dutra duals would be a good option too. They will last much longer than headers and less gasket sealing problems too.
