Thanks.... that's two votes for a carb spacer, so I will get right in that! Anyone else have any additional timing advance advice? I had it up around 20* but it didn't sound right to me, but I didn't readjust the carb either. Also I can't put more timing advance in it because I can't adjust...

Update: I think I have it timed and tuned better, but there may be a slight studder, or maybe I am just too picky... The timing is at 12-14 degrees and I used a vacuum guage to help tune the carb. I am getting about 16 on the vac guage but it is still fluttering up and down a unit or two. I...

Thanks for the info... that looks a little pricey, and the primary shafts issue is what is leading me to just buying a new carb. I plan to keep the carter on the shelf... Any recomendations out there on an aftermarket carb? I was looking at the edebrock 600 cfm performers.... thoughts, please???

What carb and intake for my 340? How many CFM and what manufacture? My 340 is mostly stock with the exception of a purple cam as I was told by the previous owner and mopar elecronic ignition. I don't race/just cruise, so I am looking for a good reliable carb and I am also considering swaping out...

So if I take out all of my intake bolts and seal them, what type of sealer should I use? RTV? Teflon tape? Is there a correct why to correct this permanently? Thanks!

Thanks, that's what I figured. But according to the previous owner, the water pump is not very old (at least not many miles). Does sitting around too much cause water pumps to go bad even with fewer miles?

Yes, I know it should run at the thromostat temp. It's a 195. Does anyone else run anything cooler? If I find it is hotter, How hot is too hot? I think an additional guage is needed, but I am not sure where I will mount it.... Thanks! Robb
