Are you using putty "honey" if you are doing a skim coat? Sure makes applying skim coats a lot easier and way less pinholes. Also use evercoat "rage gold" filler to start with. Great to work with and sands easy.

NAPA sells a mopar trim removal tool that works awesome for trim removal. It is resaonably priced also. If you try to re-use the old gasket it will leak gauranteed!!

The bumper might be the hard part depending on whether or not your front bumper on your 73 is the shock style. Other than that the only difference is the hood and grill and the 70 and 71 fenders have flush mounted marker lights. I would just leave your 73 fenders on and change hood grill...
