How much does a 1974 duster weigh?

I haven't a clue to offer, but you can lose close to a metric ****-ton by removing the bumper absorbers and going to earlier bumper brackets.

    Another Crappy Chinese “Restoration” Part

Read that whole thread. Since the casting seems okay, would it make sense to send them to a good chrome shop to have them strip them and rechrome them correctly? Im worried about the tail light bezels & side marker lights now too

Thanks, I’m assuming it’s needed for single piece side glass (cars without vent windows)?

    Another Crappy Chinese “Restoration” Part

Im hoping, but I’ll have to open the pot metal to get ghe cable ends out of the adjuster, and another pot metal joint for the cable housing times 3 cables take it apart, thread it all in the new housing then put all 6 joints back together. Im gonna give it a go, but my track record with small...

Drivers side remote mirror Bought it 2 years ago, so warranty is out, but car is still in project stage, hasn’t been out of the garage yet. 3 issues 1, installed the mirror and noticed the control lever movement doesn’t relate to the mirror movement. Compared to the original- the red, green...

Capturing a piece of early 70s Trans Am mojo...what can be done?

Love where you're going with your Dart. I had a 73 Sport that I've always regretted letting go. I came close to a Hang 10 once. I like the new wheels BTW.

    Cool block prep tips

I have been using a propane heater or small torch to drive moisture out of anything I paint or powder. I bet he stole that idea from me. I like the Mineral Spirits route, though I always though it would leave a film, so I've wiped everything down with Lacquer Thinner afterwards, prior to the...

    1973 Dodge Dart Coupe

Very hard to tell whats going on with the roof. On one picture the passenger side looks like someone added something in under the vinyl to make the glass more upright or something, yet the drivers side in another photo looks kinda normal. Could be just the way the sun's hitting it, but...

Time to play " WHATS THIS PART " again !

My Hotchkis springs have the same part number, except with FE after it, not DH. They are four leaves on the front half, three after the axle. They did not have Hotchkis marked on them, but under the black paint I could see a previous stencil that said Grab A Trak, known more in the mustang crowd.

    WOULD IT BE A SIN

So, speaking of DOT and safety mandates? My 68 has (had) shoulder belts, front and rear. I’m not sure when shoulder belts were mandated, but is my car an oddity or is that normal?
  20. RogerRamRod

    WOULD IT BE A SIN

Yes I kind of imagined that the DOT mandated side markers for 68, and most manufacturers put lights in. Then they came back and said no they must be reflective, so the manufacturers put reflectors in for 69, and then the DOT came back and said no they must be lights AND reflective. May not be...

    WOULD IT BE A SIN

What do you mean by “non-functional- reflective only”. 68s are the opposite, - functional & NOT reflective. I am partial to 68s myself, That said- there is inherently a safety factor with having more illumination on your car, and as far as lights, I think the 68s are the coolest of the Mopar...

    Well that was dumb...

Circa 1989 I had just got done swapping a 340 into my 68 Dart, the car was parked on the gravel lot next to the house. I thought I was all done, jumped in the car hit the key,- neer, neer, neer, neer, neer, neer, (Chrysler starter sound), pump pump pump pump,(you know, give it some more...

    Grinding/Particulate Masks??

When I started my project 8 years ago, I started tearing things apart "just like on TV". after the 1st or 2nd day, my lungs were hurting and I realized I needed masks. Of course then (pre-covid), you could easily find them. I went through a couple boxes over the entire project. The 3M N95...
