    Offy SB intake…. Any good??

A 2 plane manifold of any brand is a 180* intake. Technically speaking any single plane is a 360. Offy just grabbed the term to sell intakes.

    Offy SB intake…. Any good??

To my knowledge Offy never built a dual plane. The 360* is the designation for a single plane. IIRC all of their V8 intakes were marked 360*. I have one sitting on the top of my 360 in my work van. It has the 318 sized ports as the manifold I wanted was 340/360 specific. It ran fine with a Comp...

Anybody here have a small block with those Hemi heads they used to sell?

Not the same people unless they got chased out of Tennessee. They were once in Dickson TN if that is the same people.

    Low Profile Single Plane Intakes

I ran my 360 in my van with that 318 intake for 175,000+ miles. The van is allegedly sold. (Haven't got all my money yet.) Intake and carb are staying with me. I am willing to bet a set of home ported #302 closed chamber 318 heads with big valves would add to the romp'n stomp'n torque.

    Low Profile Single Plane Intakes

From Summit's website probably verbatim from Offy, Offenhauser Dual Port Intake Manifolds "Offenhauser Dual Port intake manifolds feature completely separate runner systems for the primaries and secondaries for more power across the rpm range. At low-load, the primaries feed the air/fuel...

    Low Profile Single Plane Intakes

360* means it's a single plane. Offy never made a dual plane which are 180*. The Dual Port has to separate plenums, 2 sets of runners. They don't join until you get to the port. It's a low to mid range intake for torque and MPG's. Mine is a spreadbore flange. I put a Thermoquad on it for the...

    Low Profile Single Plane Intakes

Open the ports. However the 318 ports would provide a little anti-reversion effect.

    Low Profile Single Plane Intakes

Aren't truck 5.9 Magnum manifolds a easy swap with lots of flow? The Offy Dual port may choke your engine. I have a 318 sized one I bought from Summit back in 2000 or so on my '79 360 van. The big port 340/360's were out of production. It worked well with the Comp RV grind and 2200 stall...

    273, or 318?

If it ever stops raining I will go fetch some pics of those heads. IIRC they are in pretty good shape.

    273, or 318?

920's? Is that the closed chambered truck head with no exhaust crossover? If so I have a set of those in the shop. One thing I would think would be good on this motor would be the 302 heads.

Like the 1 year old Escalade aluminum Chrome plated wheels? Like the Park Avenue 17x8's on my Lesabre? Constant fun!

Edelbrock S.P.-2P. 318 2V Does it even exist??

Seriously, what is the difference between this and the factory 2bbl intake? 10ftlbs @ 2000rpm?

Edelbrock S.P.-2P. 318 2V Does it even exist??

Not sure how old you are. Popular Hotrodding mag did a Monte Carlo with the 4bbl SP2P. Got 21mpg. It will starve a motor if you let it. I ran an Offy 360* Dual Port on my van with a Comp RV cam grossing 7000lbs+ for a long time. It was a 318 spread bore version on my 360. Separate runners for...

Edelbrock S.P.-2P. 318 2V Does it even exist??

So you can get lower MPG, and less horsepower? The max type cam to run in these is a RV type. I very much prefer the Offenhumper dual port.

    Ported Slant 6 head

Nice looking head. I see it's a peanut head. Interesting to read you want to run a Thermoquad. They do adjust their CFM by engine demand via the spring tension on the air door. Gonna mount it side ways???

    302 heads

OK checked that 273 head out there in the shop. Last 3 digits is 928 nice looking closed chambers!

    302 heads

You mean it has 318 sized ports on the intake? I thought all the cop 318's had 360 heads on them?

    302 heads

My heads are almost finished. I smoothed out the injection port hump on the floor of the exhaust. did a gasket match on the sides and top. Was told matching the flooors would make it lazy for my application. Did a gasket match on the intakes and need to finish the bowls. I was porting mine...

    302 heads

"928" I think is the 273 CC number (I think!) time to jump in the dually and go to work

    302 heads

Have you looked at your head now to see if it is the closed chamber kind? I am not sure on the casting number I can get it tonight or tomorrow. This 273 CC head was a new one to me. Not all the 302's have the J. Pull the cover it will have the casting number in the head last 3 digits is XXXX302

    302 heads

The heart shape chamber has a point that should be smoothed to prevent detonation. I have some pics but are probably to large for here. You will find them in 318 powered New Yorkers, Diplomats etc. They are a dime a dozen around here. I heard they are crack prone. The set I own have a raised...

    High Volume Oil Pump?

Why did you check it when it is running? Are you sure that you have the right dip stick and tube combo?
  26. R

How does this 360 Magnum combo sound?

Cam selection is going to be paramount here. It could build too much cylinder pressure for 87. You have E-85 in your area?

    2bbl vs Thermoquad

Depends on what size TQ you put on there. The 800 has the smaller primaries. A friend of mine is whacking down 29.5MPG in a '68 Cuda coupe with a 318 with a 273 2bbl cam, lots of compression, 2.76 gears. BTW he is running a 850 TQ.
