The first time I wired open a heat riser valve was about 1978. It worked then. Still works now. It's nice for a quicker warm up when they work, but not critical.

As you've discovered, the application catalogs all all messed up on these. I know the mistakes go right into the '70s on Dusters and Demons. The only reliable way to get what you need is to measure and order by dimensions.

My cousin crashed a Spitfire in the Egyptian desert flying low. Probably not that low until just touching down. Low enough, though, that when the engine stalled while he was switching fuel tank feed there wasn't enough altitude to restart the engine.

You could try contacting Firm Feel or Steer and Gear to buy one. I'd imagine they have an aftermarket equivalent sourced like Redfish says in post #3.

Jim, the I've had the Centric rotors on backorder with Summit since early August. They just keep kicking the ship date further out. Rock Auto is showing some drilled and slotted in stock for a good bit less than Summit. Power Stop brand I think, whatever Chinese company that is.

D in the fifth space would indicate a 273 2bbl, and an H means it came with the Formula S 383 4bbl engine. Those engines, and the ones listed above by mvh were the only ones normally available.

The fifth character in your VIN is a letter which identifies the original engine. What is that letter?
