    carb decision nd help

Grab you timing light! This is probably a little too retarded even for a stock 318. Try 14* initial & see how it fares you're probably gonna find it likes somewhere around 12*-16*.

    holley 4160 bogs at cruise

I have a similar set up with a similar hesitation. Went to the 35 shooter & reset idle under load & it seemed to help but didn't cure. I run 16* initial & 34* total by 2500 RPM. I'm thinking pump cam, may be not enough fuel early in the pump shot for the the cam (xe268 ). will be trying the red...

    holley 4160 help. 600cfm.

If you've got a spare metering plate, it may be worth your while to drill out the plate to accept standard jets. not a tough mod but makes tuning a little easier. just thow #70 jets in as your baseline since you already know you came out of the box with that equivelant.

    carb tuning help

You can start with a vacuum gauge and set the idle to highest vacuum as a start point and start to tune but I think most folks would advise using a wideband to get the best tuning. Maybe there's a member in your area with one that wouldnt mind helping out. Here's a good place to pick up some...

    318 4bbl air cleaner

I picked up a 4 barrel single snorkle air cleaner from the local pick n pull that came off of a small block Cordoba. I plan to modify this guy to remove the snorkle & shoot it wrinkle black & use it in conjunction with Mopar wrinkle black valve covers as the chrome piece I have on there now just...

    Diagnosing a slow fuel leak

Check the two rubber fuel hoses that connect the gas tank to the fuel lines. Odds are they've never been touched & may be cracked at the ends. Replace them with fuel injection style hoses for more longevity.

    Intake and Carb Question 318

SP2P is an intake designed with small runners for the purpose of better gas mileage. Performance wise, a stock steel 4bbl manifold or Performer is a decent step above the SP2P. I guess it depends on your goals.

    Hose Size

Anyone know offhand the I.D. size of the rubber fuel hoses that connects to the two hose barbs on the gas tank? I believe they are the gauge sender and the fuel line adjacent to it. Thk you.

edelbrock sp2p... will I regret it?

Appreciate the advice. I'm gonna pull the trigger on the performer. The whole reason for upgrading from the 2bbl to the 4bbl was for power & I really dont want to sacrifice HP & sounds like I'll be doing this anyhow in the future if I stick with SP2P, might as well do it now.. Im sure craigslist...

edelbrock sp2p... will I regret it?

Would an RPM run well on the 318 ive got? if i remember right the powerband is best at like 1500-6000(?) rpm on the RPM & like idle-5000(?) on the performer.

edelbrock sp2p... will I regret it?

I know there are some threads out there in which this intake has had its faults & merrits detailed. i have one of these I picked up locally & it now sits atop my 73 318. but before I bolt on my carb & reconnect it all, I'm starting to have reservations & I'm wondering how much of a difference...

    2bbl-4bbl conversion?

Alright, finally decided to pull the trigger & upgrade the stock 2bbl on my 318 to a Holley 600 (http://www.holley.com/0-80457S.asp). Will I have any problems with the stock AT Kickdown? Thx in advance. ~Jeff

    650 cfm too much?

Yeah, it will only be a street driver.... I apreciate the input. i think ill continue to look for a 600 to fall into my lap. like I said, it will be a mild build & i think with what I have in mind, the 600 probably would work best. thx all.

    650 cfm too much?

For an otherwise stock 318? came across a used Holley 7855 (PN 0-80555C) for a pretty decent price. Looking for an upgrade to the stock Carter 2bbl, but really in no hurry. Was originally thinking more of a 600cfm since i only intend to bolt on mild upgrades at best. (4bbl, alum intake, 340 cam...

    Air cleaner stud ID

Yeah, it has holes for some sort of bracket on each of the outer edges of the carb, not just a screw in mechanism, hard to describe. I'll get some pics taken in the morning to help illustrate. it's rigged pretty poorly.

    Air cleaner stud ID

Need help tracking down a replacement air cleaner stud for my '73 Dart Swinger 318. Have a rigged setup on the stock 2bbl & was hoping someone might be able to produce a part number or source for a replacement. Thx. ~Jeff
