I need a new temperature control cable for my 73 dart with a/c. I cant find anyone who sells one. Can someone point me in the right direction? I put a used one on a while ago and it doesent work worth a damn. I have the heater/ac box out now so id like to get this working.

That sucks, That makes one more thing I need to do before the engine goes back in. At this rate Ill be done by the time winter rolls in. :banghead:

There are some nuts on the firewall (engine side). Are these for the heater box? This is a 73 a/c car. the nuts are behind the heater box so i was thinking they might hold it in? I was going to eventualy take the heater box out and put the heater core in and get the door working. Rite now...

I say for on the cheap, tint the windows, put some insulation on the firewall and get a fan like the school bus drivers have. you could also try and figure a way to get some air to your back and *** as these are generaly the hottest places because you are sitting on them, one of those 70's bead...

Hot rod magazine did it a few years back. IIRC they put it in and ran it for 10 minutes with the cap off. then drained it and put coolant in. might be able to find the article if you google search it.

Also if you swap a 70-72 front end onto a 73 (-76?) car there plug on the receiver/dryer thing slightly interferes with the front end. but you could fix that issue with some small cutting.

I used the black rtv if i remember correctly. so far antifreeze is the only thing this car doesent leak. :toothy10:

i havent seen this mentioned so ill toss it out there. Ive heard of radiator caps going and not holding as much pressure in the system as they are supposed to causing an overheating issue. also from what i understand you can use one of those infrared temp guns to see if the radiator is...

this is driving me NUTS!! i got the clip to pull off the flapper door thing but i cannot for the life of me figure out how the clip that holds the cable covering in out. it has like two tabs on either side of the cable and this odd ring thing connecting them. i just cant figure out how to get it...

mine broke so im trying to swap it out. i got it off at the controls but i cant figure out any good way to get to the other end. also how is it clipped on at that other end? this is an a/c car. any tips, tricks, advice or pictures would help ALOT.

smokes coming out of the vents on my car. i saw the heater core was leaking just a tiny bit the other day. i know it needs to be changed but is that why its smoking?
