    Doug's D453-ss

I did a few years ago when I put the ceramic coated Doug’s on my 72’ Demon 340. At that time SS manifolds or headers were frowned upon because they seemed to crack at the welds. I went with the ceramic coated version and never looked back. My car is garaged and kept clean so they have not rusted...

    Headers, 72 Duster 360 w-power steering

Doug’s. These cars are 50+ years old. Not much has changed in the last 20years for the standard configuration. Except steering boxes… those have gotten better and smaller. Syleng1

    OPINIONS ON EXHAUST SOUND

Drone noise. Hard to describe with words the hair pulling, ear bleeding noise that certain combinations make at a lower rpm under load. 3:23 gears are tough. Easy on fuel but makes a good engine work and you hear it.

    TTI A25RE HEAD PIPE PROBLEM

It was not on your directions? Mine were very clearly written that like 2 nubs needed to be removed possibly for proper fit.

    OPINIONS ON EXHAUST SOUND

What say, “wooom woooom wooom”’every time you cruise. Those gears are killing your cruise sound.

What's the cheapest way to install and exhaust system on a big block a body

Find out who bends and installs exhaust systems for cash (typically a guy who works at Meinakee or Monroe does it on the side) or if you are really tite funded. 2 header mufflers bolted to a set of headers. 2 90 degree dumps and 2 hangers. That’s cheap…. Sorry but there is nothing “cheap” any...

    MUFFLER OPINIONS

You are asking for opinion on a car we have not seen, or heard. Your choice is spend money and buy a different set and try them. Rinse, and repeat as every muffler will sound different on every car depending on cam, Cubic inch, length of pipe, stick or auto, gear ratio, terrain and tire size...

Knocking noise after new exhaust gaskets

Jeez now you just made the guy go into panic mode. Lol! Prayers it’s not that and just a lifter tapping or something simple.

Knocking noise after new exhaust gaskets

Carbon knocking around as it loosens up? Does it burn oil ? I agree with Workingdog1- it was possibly there before - ya just could not hear it.

69 cuda with 360 stroked to 410 Way the hell to loud.

I still trying to get over no pictures, not a one of a 69’ cuda with a 600hp small block. That’s like giving a Playboy to a guy on death row with no pictures. LMAO.

    TTI exhaust on 71 Duster

“starting at the back” sounds well… kinda backwards. But trust me it it works. Especially when working on jack stands in a driveway. The higher you get the body of the car the better. Allow rear axle to hang for more room. Jack the rear up to normal when adjusting to make stuff clear.

    TTI exhaust on 71 Duster

I have a H system on my 72 340 4 speed Demon. With Doug’s headers and it fit perfectly. And a TTI x pipe on my 66’ barracuda with the 273 auto and Doug’s headers. Fits perfectly and never needed to have any muffler shop fix anything. I’m not a fan of those big clunky muffler hanger support...

    Accurate Exhaust

I’ve used both. Accurate is spot on. High quality parts. Expensive but worth every penny. TTI- also top quality for performance parts. Both my current cars are TTI now. Other than not liking the factory mufflers (tone is tough with highway gears. Swapped in a steeper gear and much better no drone)

3” stainless exhaust tips for 72 Demon

One thing I’ve noticed about Classic is they list only what the part or re-pop was on originally but not all applications. You can make these work on any thing but it may need a tad modifications. Seeing as they are 3” I’m not sure if the outer end is a bigger opening or a restriction. The TTI...

Small Block Fenderwell Header ID...Anyone Recognize These?

Weird bends for an Abody I’m guessing. Maybe a rail or sand buggy? Brand? Who knows but somebody on here could recognize if given enough time. Heck some will even tell you the day and time they were made and by who! Lol! Sorry I was not more help other than an educated guess.

    reducing exhaust drone

On my Demon 340/4speed with 3:23 suregrip had that drone at cruising speed. TTI exhaust and dyno flow mufflers. I changed the rear gears to 3.91 And the drone is gone…. So is my fuel. Lol!

    header delima...

Side note- if the engine is sitting proper and you want more clearance- buy better headers.

    header delima...

I agree. Put a patch on the hole and then figure out why it is hitting the steering linkage. Maybe the motor mount is collapsing. Then drive it like you stole it.

    HOME MADE EXHAUST SYSTEM

Back in the 80’s I made one for a car. 2-1/2” round pipe and straight and angle cuts to create the bends. Welds we’re pretty but I would had been better using square tubing. pro- it was done in 1 day, I could afford it and it worked cons- fn ugly.

    Sanderson Headers: The Verdict

Nice job with the write up! Also, good job on the start to finish. As much as I love my Doug’s on the 66’ and my 72’. Those almost fit better…. “Almost!” I have never seen a comparison of shorty headers vs long tube headers. Maybe An episode of Engine Masters in the future. Thank you for...

    318 exhaust port differences

Oh! Yea those are 340-360 ports. Just buy her one of those and the headers will fit. honestly those gaskets will work but find the proper sized 273-318 header gaskets if you really want to be safe. Jegs and Summit have them. Last set I bought from mr gasket like $20

    Catalytic Converter Problem?

Okay- that is a really good reason. You are lucky to be here and taking precautions are good to protect your gift. So honestly- running cats on cars not designed for them is no easy feat. Maybe investing in a fuel injection system or a power train that runs a lot cleaner to begin with is a...
