I had 13" bias ply tires on my car when I got it and 9" drums...yep it's a GT. Disk brakes, 14" radial tires and a sway bar really helped this car out. I still have 9" drums on the rear but I have the parts to upgrade it.

Here is my 65 Vert /6, Auto, added disk brakes, swap bar, Weber 32/32, Pertronix ignition etc...pretty nice cruiser. The second picture is at the Texas Thaw which is coming up March 1 and 2nd in Denton Tx at the 1/8 mile drag strip. Pretty cool car show and you can race your car too.

That has a pretty cool interior for a 4 door car. Never saw one with buckets and the auto in the floor. Back seat looks pretty cool too. Is it a /6 car? Do they slant to the wrong side too...:)

The problem with a paint color change is that you have to paint the door jams, under the hood, the trunk, etc...to make it look right. I would concentrate on getting the car running the way you like it, maybe do some interior stuff, suspension stuff then see how the budget goes. Also you would...

I wouldn't cut off the drip rails...it's just looks goofy. Taking off the rear door handles looks silly...kinda like yeah it's got the rear doors....but don't look at 'em...I'll just hide them and people will think it's a 2 door. Stay with classic styling and not fad styling and if you decide...

If I was going to do a cheap paint on the 65 wagon. If you are going to spray bomb it then spray it with semi-flat or gloss black...it'll protect the vechicle better and after a while it will look flat anyway. If the present paint job is okay...it'll probably be better than a rattle can paint...

the other option is to put some steel wheels on the car off of a 72ish Dart they came in 14" size. I have 2 really nice ones that I'd sell. Nice car it has all the right stuff, V8 and a 4speed and a vert....course 65s are better...:)
