Is it ok to copy a W5 head and make it better or are we just mad at Speedmaster

I personally don’t have a problem with China, or any other country manufacturing and selling products in the United States, as long as they don’t identify as the original manufacturer. Look at Engine Quest for example selling Magnum heads. They are very close to the original Magnum head, but...

    Fuel residue on secondary bowl

Those plugs on the top of the metering block do leak. The blow through guys epoxy those because of that. The blow through pressure makes them leak worse. Cooling fan air could blow it around.

Ending the season early with a broken crankshaft

Dang that sucks, but I guess it could have been way worse.

Theory about 727 and wheels up launch

Same idea as jet extensions in a Holley carb.

Jeff Lutz did a little testing at Keystone

He’s fast alright. So are the rest of Street Outlaws. I watch their goings on fairly regularly. I also watch Tom Bailey and Steve Morris quite a bit.

I hate the direction racing is heading

Just commenting on some of the cost and risk involved in “real racing”. I rarely post at all, let alone in your posts. I do however keep up on your adventures.

I hate the direction racing is heading

I have never raced for one main reason. I can’t get myself to pay a bunch of money to possibly break my car 100’s of miles from home. I do drive it 100’s of miles at times to visit out of state family and such though. Also wouldn’t mind following along on some of the race week or like events...

    Cable shifter issue, please help!

I had the same problem until I got the shortest toughest cable (36” B&M) and was able to keep the cable behind the down swoop of the header tubes. Not a single issue with it since, and the shorter stiffer cable has less deflection that made the shifter a little mushy in it’s response.

    Sound the alarm, maybe...

Bro in law has too many and needed to get rid some. He said he would rather give them to us than deal with A-holes trying to sell them. He wants me to come back and get the Toyota Solara convertible. (Damn nice car too) I may do it, just don’t know yet. Sorry about your thread.

Pictures why I preach to slow down

My Wife and 3 kids were on their way home from Bakersfield (500 miles or so) She called and said her dodge minivan was making a horrible noise. After some questions and phone sounds diagnosis I determined it was a broken flex plate. I told her she had 2 choices. Stay in Bakersfield for a couple...

What tune up would you rather have?

That used to be my opinion also, but not anymore. I have this Holley Street Avenger from a big block motor modified to run on my 5.9 and it's a sweetheart now throughout the range. I re calibrated the idle and high speed air bleeds and everything. Which reminds me, I could drop a little on the...

Tire smoke Saturday. Light em up

Exactly, but I'll be in when I get different AKA not so expensive tires.:D Won't have a problem one with burning up 60 dollar tires in trade for smoke. Besides, I just got the car ready to do that kind of stuff with the Sure Grip, 3.55 gears and a driveshaft that won't fly out looking like a...

360 LA one piece oil pan gasket?

I could swear I have seen where the LA pan has the indent/outdent:D on the rear corners that have to be dealt with to use the magnum one piece gasket. Here is one instance. Pan gasket for 360. What one works best?

    Gatornationals pro classes canceled

After reading this entire thread I'm constantly amazed at how many talk about the virus and how it probably won't kill them if they ever did get it, and don't take into account the people they could infect that it will. It's not just all about you. It's a public responsibility that ALL of us do...

    Speedmaster spark plug holes improvement??

Hey, at least you got rid of a bunch of detonation causing hot edges. That said, I'd be a little pissed off about my plugs being shrouded that deep. But then again, if you end up loosing a race to Jason you have an excuse.:D

    Mother Nature hates racers

You need to be adaptable man. No air boat drags? :D A few buddies and I all had RC airplanes, and when it was raining we swapped the motors and controls into out air boats.
