    Headers For a A body

That's not a bad deal, especially with the down pipes if they fit his car (they should)??

    Headers For a A body

Yes and no. The 340 is correct but I'll have to check my records to see if that particular passenger's manifold has the correct exit hole diameter. I do know that that passenger's manifold exits near the fire wall as oppossed to the Jeep Grand Cherokee manifold (9376 casting):

    Headers For a A body

Ideally you could use the 340 driver's manifold (about $150-$250) and a 1996/97/98 Jeep Grand Cherokee passenger's manifold (about $30-$50). It would cost much less than headers and still give you great flow!! Also you would get excellent ground clearance. I'm sure your engine won't produce...

    Alternatives to Accurate Ltd.

Ok, good. I know that I've made the ball flange for the down pipe many times so if you want to know how to make one I can tell you how and it won't cost more than $25.

    Alternatives to Accurate Ltd.

Which part (excatly) do you need? The ball flange for the down pipe or the ball part for the header/exhaust manifold?

    72 340 pass side manifold

Anyone who isn't concerned about having their car all original should seriously consider the 96, 97, 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee passenger manifold. It has an exit hole very close in size to the 340 driver's manifold and fit extremely well in all A bodies (even early As with mods).

    Help finding clearance!!!!

Or you could buy the driver's 340 manifold ($200) and a 96/97/98 Jeep Grand Cherokee passenger's manifold ($40). No clearance problems at all. You'd only lose maybe 10 HP but you wouldn't have to worry about header leaks or speed bumps or the high cost??

    68 barracuda Exhaust Q

Only the 340 manifolds are 2 1/4" all the others (273, 318) are only 1 5/8". Even the '70s 340 passenger is only 1 7/8". There are also some newer 318, 360 manifolds that are 1 7/8", then there are the newer 360 magnum manifolds some of which are 2 3/16". So the demand for the larger pipes...

    68 barracuda Exhaust Q

"what you would think you would pay for a couple pieces of exhaust pipe".............If you're asking about the down pipe, I used to sell them for $90. Never bought an after market down pipe so I have no idea what a good price would be. If you can't make them yourself and you don't know anyone...

    68 barracuda Exhaust Q

I'm assuming that your talking about the driver's side down pipe?? If so then to answer your question, you might could use 2 1/2 but I can't see going through all that trouble since the exit hole on a 340 manifold is only 2 1/4" (at best). The exhaust can only flow a freely as the smallest...

New exhaust system rubber has come out on hangers

I went back and looked at the pic again this morning. From what I can see there is nothing keeping the rubber grommet from backing out. If the rod has no washer welded on the backside where it contacts the grommet it will back out no matter what. At first I thought that the bracket had...

New exhaust system rubber has come out on hangers

Looks like you can loosen the bracket and rotate it towards the back to get it to align a little better. From the pic it looks like they installed the bracket too far forward?? But maybe it moved forward on its' own (worked itself forward)?? If you can't rotate it to relieve the stress on the...

New exhaust system rubber has come out on hangers

When the exhaust is hanging loose it should be really close to being aligned (except for the weight of the pipes).
  23. Treblig

New exhaust system rubber has come out on hangers

Usually when the rubber comes out of the hanger it's because there is a misalignment of the exhaust pipes as witnessed by you not being able to force it back in place. If the pipes are pulling on the mounts they will cause the rubbers to come out of the hangers. If the pipes are properly...

Anyone use 67-69 drivers side exhaust manifold on a 64 Valiant?

The 68/69 driver's 340 manifold is supposed to work on the early As, but only with manual steering. Otherwise you'll have to get/find a good driver's early A manifold.

    Yea....I didn't see that, thought he wrote 2 1/4"???
  26. Treblig

    Exhaust manifold output size

It wouldn't be too hard to open up the smaller one 3/16" -1/4" or so, just be careful???? Pics of the outlet on the 2" would help a lot!! Don't remember seeing a 2" driver's manifold for small block??????

Warning: TTI Exhaust with A/T, Console, Manifolds ('65 Abody).

If I remember correctly I had a good 1 inch space between the pure silicone tubing (heavy wall braided) and the exhaust. I was really surprised when it caught on fire and even more surprised that it's extremely hard to extinguish. Once it catches on fire it bubbles and melts and drips and...

Warning: TTI Exhaust with A/T, Console, Manifolds ('65 Abody).

Be aware that although silicone has high heat resistance it WILL CATCH ON FIRE!!!!! I used some silicone tubing on some wiring that went near my exhaust hoping that it would keep the wiring from melting. Well.......the damn silicone sleeve caught on fire from the exhaust heat and I couldn't...
