    Hotchkis 76 Dart Build

Yup...I love DTM's response on saying that it is being built to show just how capable the torsion bar/leaf spring suspension is. Is this expensive? Yup. Would I love to build a toy like this if I had the coin? Yup. In the end will this filter down to us more 'pedestrian' owners? Yup. Is...

    front sway bar suggestions

If you add a rear bar in the future just remember to be mild with it- the semi-elliptical leafs actually turn the axle into a turn, a huge-o-mungous rear bar will make it under steer terribly. No mas, amigo

    car does not jack even?

All that and....SS springs sit higher on the RH (passenger side) to compensate for 'squat,' at launch if I am not mistaken

    duralast ball joints vs moog

Thanks abodyjoe! I knew a lot of the Moog went overseas (aka "China"), so good to know that I can still try to keep the Valiant (which I am keeping) as North American as possible

    Air shocks..why?

Another 'benefit' to air shocks is that the mounting stud up top isn't made for that type of stress load, so it can easily crack/pull-out/rip apart that brace. Air shocks were before my time, but a friend with a frame/alignment shop showed me on my old '68 GT (which didn't have them) why you...

Hotchkis B Body Rear sway bar fit A Body?

If it is mounted like the FMJ (meaning up above on the rails via brackets), you'll probably have to bring in the ends a little and figure out if the rest (lower brackets, end links, et cetera) will mount up the same or need 'customizing.' Post up some pictures, kinda hard to tell how they...

    wheel bearings

What 5.7 said, but do not pack the hub full of grease. Just needs a smear in there to keep it from rusting basically. If you jam a bunch in the hub, it'll get hot and start coming out all over...

    Which Shocks For Handling??

One thing about the KYB's- they are more harsh in the beginning, but they seem to get less harsh after about 1K-1,500 miles and operate at that level forever after that initial break-in. I've had them on 2 A-bodies and the rear of my (now deceased) turbo minivan

    8.75 Value?

Just bought an A-body 8 3/4" rear on Wednesday for $350 w/Strange 28 spline, big-bolt axles and brakes...didn't want the 4.88 spool, got some money taken off for that

    Stuck Torsion Bar, SERIOUSLY stuck

Deep breath- don't get pissed and go nuts-you know you'll regret if you fascrew it up. Take 73 up on his offer. When you get it out, use boat trailer bearing grease on the ends of the replacements...that sh@t survives getting dumped in the ocean time and time again, tenacious as a hungry fat kid...

    T Bar Installation Questions

If it doesn't have numbers or you want to be "Double" sure odd number- left side (V-8, HD/"340" bar, 893 will be on the one end) even number-right side (V-8, HD/"340" bar, 892 will be on one end) Chrysler designated between side-specific parts odd on left, even on right. The numbers on...

fair price for front end rebuild

Go with Moog- a lot of those rebuild kit houses get parts from wherever is cheapest. Also, Moog parts that say "Problem Solver" or "Improved design" are not BS'ing you. Save your money elsewhere if need be, but do not skimp on the parts or the alignment when everything is installed. You will be...

    identify these torsion bars please

I believe 892 and 893 are the HD suspension (smallblock or slant, optional for those cars) and standard on the 340 cars looks like Tony has got you covered w/his P/N list there.

    Lower control arm question

The 67-72 has the sway bar go out inbetween the K-member and the core support and the LCA tabs are further out toward the wheel. 73-76 has the bar go through the K-member and the tabs are more inboard (to clear the front-hung calipers). Mixing and matching the swaybars and LCA's won't work...

    Steering/K-frame stiffening

W/a manual box car, my buddy made a bracket that went from on of the nuts a top the housing to the subframe (welded @ subframe, hole for the bolt to go through to the steering box body). The K was also fully gussetted, perimeter welded, and he put about a 2 1/2-3" skid plate on the bottom. With...
