904 vs 727 auto floor linkage

Yep I looked at the shop manual. Makes sense now. I also have the loops on the tail shaft. Thanks!

904 vs 727 auto floor linkage

Found this over on the Moparts tech. And NOW where that bracket makes a little more sense to me, although I'm still not sure how the linkage below the floor on the tranny works. I'll need to see if my shop manuals show this. I'll look again at it all tonight.

What mounting are you referring to? See photo of my old 904.

904 vs 727 auto floor linkage

My rebuilt 904 shouldn't be a truck trans, and I still have my original 904, but I'll check into this to be sure. Thanks!

904 vs 727 auto floor linkage

I'm looking into converting auto column to auto floor with OEM center console, and trying to make sure this will work before I take the plunge. This has been discussed before, but the old threads I've found have photos gone and I've not seen positive confirmation on this exactly: Was the OEM...

    Clutch SG that's seen abuse

And I found this old thread, where RustyRatRod pointed out information that's good for here too. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=257733

    Clutch SG that's seen abuse

What do you think of this unit? Should I look for anything in particular? I was told the pinion nut came loose and the gear did this to the case, and was ran afterwards with no issues. I'm hoping it's just cosmetics to the case, as long as I don't see cracks in it or something like that.

    Big Bolt Rears

'73-up a-bodies didn't have to have power brakes to be disc brake BBP cars. I took BBP disc brakes and BBP 7-1/4 rear from a '75 /6 Dart Custom 4-door that had manual brakes.

    Dr. Diff 8 3/4 axles

Ok thanks for that info. I understand that it's about thread engagement, which was my concern if buying two sets of rims/wheels, one for street, one for race. I'd rather avoid the long 3" as I'm sure that would interfere with regular acorn style nuts. This means I'd avoid the 2 pc wheels as...

    Dr. Diff 8 3/4 axles

My options are open on wheels at the moment. I just want to make sure I buy the correct type/length studs so I keep my options open for both street wheel w/acorn nuts and racing wheel with open steel nuts. (Right now I just have Mopar rally wheels w/acorn lug nuts.)

    Dr. Diff 8 3/4 axles

This thread got me thinking... If I'm mainly street, with some strip time, which studs do you go with so you have a stock look on the street (closed acorn lug nuts), but meet racing requirements for the strip (open hex)? (And say I may want the option to throw on some different wheels/tires...

    741 8-3/4 application?

Thank you. I figured but again...peace of mind from others helps.

    741 8-3/4 application?

I believe I have the answer to my question already, but for peace of mind...will a 741 be just fine for an a-body with a 340 running 400-450 hp, auto trans? Again street use mainly, some track time here and there. And will it be borderline or plenty overkill for such an application? I have an...

    Just bought a 8 3/4 have a few questions?

That's the part of his original post that stood out for me. I was at Mopar Nat'ls last month and $200 is a fantastic price for it. Wish I could find one w/driveshaft and complete with center section for that price!
