    Engine shakes under acceleration

Glad you got it fixed. Quite often we inherit other people's mistakes. That mismatch is a common one.

    Tuning help, please

I can't tell much from the video. Start with higher octane fuel or add octane booster then retune. My 340 with iron heads and 10.5 compression will ping bad on 87. I'm running 94 octane.

    Engine shakes under acceleration

Mr dramatic, not really. Was expecting another post and run, others were thinking the same after a week...it only takes a couple of seconds to say "Thanks, I'll get back to you guys". *sigh* Anyways, good luck.

    Idle problem

Might want to check the gap between the reluctor and magnetic pickup coil in the distributor too. Agree with dropping the idle speed if everything checks out. I have a six pack setup (six idle mixture screws) and lopey cam that idles at 750 in park. Slowly back the idle down to close to...

Yes Kory, the plugs are Champion 792's. Recommended gap is .045", they were not available locally. Woody.

Well, the old 340 is out. The 408 is not ready to run yet. I expected the swap to be 2 days at the most..WRONG! Here are some of the delays & problems we encountered. I'm going broke... 1. Plugs for the Eddie heads were special order in Canada = 1 week (got charged about 5$ a piece). 2...

Nice to finally see some good feedback on an MP crate engine.

Thanks guys. It'll be a street car. It won't be going over 50mph very often, unless I get the racing bug. I've alway wanted to try racing, never got around to it.

Okay, I just HAD to have a stroker! I placed an order through Summit for a Blueprint crate engine. I'm scared because it's a "crate". Here's the info on it, the picture is not the actual motor. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=MLL%2DBPC4081CT&autoview=sku So now I've...

Sorry to hear about Larry's problem. Stuff like that happens way too often. Not sure about this guy either. He has not been around a long time, at least not as a business. He does want to make a sale, but you never know what you're getting unless you build it, or watch the build with...

Yes, the same as the Mopar crate 360.

It is a good price here in Canada, BUT still not the stroker I wanted. Will I be happy with it? Ughhh. Man, I hate decisions when so much money is involved.

    Small block strokers. Your findings.

Okay, I finally heard back from another machine shop. He can build me a 365 c.u. Magnum engine (not stroker) with a roller cam, estimated at 410 h.p. He's quoting me $4,500. So this build is similar to an MP magnum crate engine. I wanted a stroker, but this seems to be okay. He will also...

I was looking at a Cuda with a built 440 in it. When the guy nailed it, it scared the sh*t out of me..lol. I got planted. So, I know what you're saying. Too bad the car had so much bondo in it. I passed it up.

Thanks Spaz, nice to see some finished prices. running on pump gas is a must too. We're paying over $4.50 a gallon here.

The heads are in good shape, not too many miles, as the PO had them done. So, freshening, port & polish.

Yep, the J heads that already have the 2.02 intake valves. I rather have the eddy heads too.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I didn't intend to start any debates though. I was looking to see what is working for everyone, and their expertise. Here's what I'm up against. I priced a crate engine at Mancinis, it is 6200$ (but not available). The same crate engine in Canada is priced at...

Thanks for the replies! It seems everybody who has a stroker is satisfied. You guys are making some great power. Fishy, yeah, I have a 3.23 gear set in a 741. I needed the 4.10's (have a 489 pig) in the 340 because of the cam. I can always change back, sometimes it does get annoying like you...

    Small block strokers. Your findings.

I'm seriously considering dropping a 408 in my car. If you have one (any SB stroker), are you satisfied with it? Did you build it yourself, or is it a crate? I was looking at stroking my 340 to a 416, but the crates are cheaper. I can't do the build myself. I have a mechanic friend that can...

What ignition system will do me justice??

You can put me down for MSD too. I'm using the 6AL (switched from the MP Orange box). It helps with an agressive cam profile like mine. I have a better low end now.
