Kim you mentioned you had a 48” housing flange to housing flange. Is your axle an 8 3/4? I am narrowing mine down and am looking for axle length that I will need. Andy

For pipe thread a thread insert would be called a reducer bushing. I believe the fitting broken is a 1/8 NPT. Drill it out to 1/4" NPT and install a bushing like pictured or get a flare fitting with larger male NPT end.

Use a thread insert, not a helicoil. A thread insert is solid, a helicoil is a wound thread. To prevent chips in the trans pack the tap flutes with grease.

Does the speedo input socket spin? Check to see if it is locked up. Did you buy a new cable and jacket or cable then inserted into the old jacket? Could have a kink or bad spot in jacket. If it is an old jacket is the inner lubed up, especially if it has been sitting for a while. Also check you...

What stall speed are you running on your converter? If you have a lopy idle from the camshaft, I'd up the stall to 2500-3000. I had experienced a similar problem that was resolved with a higher stall. Andy

Well kick me in the nads and call me stupid. I started looking closer and and found the front pump bushing spun - kudos to sixty9xtc. I am not sure what I was looking at before, but the front bushing and housing will need replaced. The housing was chewed up also. Thanks to everyone again, Andy

Thanks for the advice. I have checked with air pressure and the only thing I see is some air blowing by the rear servo rings. Everything moved as it was suppose to. Is it possible to have that much blow by to blow the fluid out the vent? I pulled the pump out and looked at the bearings/bushings...
