I'm at a junk yard and found a 8.75 rearend in a 72 New Yorker It has a 489 pig how can I tell if its a posi with out pulling it? I'm at lunch and in work clothes. So I don't have much time. do I need to take the rest of the day off and change my clothes and come back with tools?

So its most likely a B body. The bolt pattern is 4 1/2" on the rear end and I measured 44" from center to center on the spring perches. I do believe it is a sure grip. I'm not sure how to tell. With out tearing it apart and looking. The gears are 3.23. Am I better to keep looking or try to make...
