    SS Barracuda front Bumper

That part number 2768584-5 for outer support shows in the 1968 parts book as the "support, outer" bracket that attaches to front frame rail. B is for Barracuda.

    SS Barracuda front Bumper

Nice picture But what does a “very valid car” mean? When was that picture taken? If it was an early picture, when in its early life was it taken? As delivered, racer prep after delivery, as raced early, etc? What car was it?

Restoration of Tom Myl's 1968 Super Stock BO29 Hemi Barracuda

In your Barracuda S/S recreation, you have a 67 Dana date coded in there, correct? Didn't it have date coded 4.56 gears like WO/RO cars had?

Is it BO and LO or is it B0 and L0….that is the question??

On regular production 1968 vehicles, the Shipping Order number (S.O.#) is stamped on trunk lip and radiator support. SO# is also stamped on Fender Tag and written on buildsheet. On 1969 and newer mopars, the two digits before the vin are then plant and year. Forgot if they did the the two...

Is it BO and LO or is it B0 and L0….that is the question??

Also no “Z” stamped on vin or tag. There is an upper case “Z” on 68-down tags. Because it gets confused with a “2”.

    NHRA BO29 information from 1968

@HemiSSDart Does you dash VIN say LO or LS ? Did they just purposely incorrectly write LS on the MSO, just so they could get a regular title in the vehicle?

Convertibles had rear torque boxes. And front boxes. And I think reinforcing inside the rocker panel. Would have to look if that is referenced to in the notes. I believe the S/S cars had front boxes.

68 Hemi Dart's at Mecum Indy

The 270 is the lowest line Dart Hardtop. The first thing Chrysler Engineer Bob Tarozzi did in late 1967 when beginning the design of these cars was weight analysis. I own Bob’s 3” thick binder full of notes from the Super Stock project. He was looking for the lightest and most optimum...

68 Hemi Dart's at Mecum Indy

Historically, most of the people that have owned and restored these cars over the past 30 years have never restored an A-body or paid much attention to them otherwise. They are typically high end Hemi B or E-body people. Or high end factory race car collectors. So there’s a lot of wives-tales...

    MECUM DART?

Like was said, 031’s are out there and you move the outlets for big block. Glen Ray sold 033’s repro, but doesn’t do them now. Maybe call them.

    MECUM DART?

That article has misleading errors on the history of this particular car. The Mecum write up is more accurate. This yellow dart was raced from 68 to about 77-78. But it was not heavily wheel tubbed and did not get a full extensive cage. It wasn’t cut up by typical 1978 standards. And that is...

    MECUM DART?

Car was raced 68 to 77 or so. Found with blown motor. Just wasn’t cut up for wheel tubs and full roll cage like many other S/S car were in 1978?. sounded like Tom Hoover found it with blown motor. Then Lou? Mancini bought it. Not sure if it had one or two yellow repaints The car was painted...

    Correct Super Stock Seats?

Your “facts” are not facts. They are pictures you said you found in the internet, then you’ve made personal opinions of them. That’s a prototype car. It’s a test bed. It does not dictate what was done to the small production run. A picture of a prototype cannot be said to be a “fact” on the...

What PARTS did Hurst and Chrysler put in the Super Stock Barracuda & Dart not in other factory cars

In Bob Tarozzi’s notes from designing the cars, he just lists those parts like they were off the shelf nothing special. I think the mirror block off has an 25xxxx part number??? So that originates to 1964-1965. The second digit is typically the year it was first used (intended to use).

the barracuda heater control block off’s have molded clips behind them that precisely fit into the control slots in the heater control area. And snap in. One guy with a Mexican GTS showed them to me in his glove box. He had converted the car to heater since the car was in LA. He wouldn’t sell...
