Personally I would recommend calling Racer Brown. He was recommended to me here on FABO and his advice was more realistic than what I got from Comp Cams, Lunati and Hughe’s. It comes down to buying a cam that fits your needs. Racer Brown Cams

If the grinder id# are on the face of the cam. Why not remove the cam plug on the rear of the block? At the least you have a new cam plug.

I have seen this type of fresh air setup done on Mopars before, using a dual snorkel air cleaner. The air from the vent box at the base of the windshield is supposedly under more pressure. Yes I know it’s a Chevy.

Here are some photos of how I installed the cooler and oil lines on my Barracuda. Do I need the cooler, maybe. I do believe my motor needs the oiling to the timing chain and the eccentric.

I found two patrol cars in a Pick n Pull wrecking yard. Pulled everything including the fuel pumps and oil lines. As mentioned above, used one on Power Wagon. On the Barracuda, replaced the oem oil lines with braided lines and fabricated cooler mounts.

I went a different route. Installed the E58 motor oil cooler assembly on the 372 in my Barracuda. It squirts oil directly on to the timing chain. Used the same setup on my ‘78 Power Wagon. Never had any backlash in the timing chain.

The best advice I gan give is call Racer Brown. He is easy to talk to and can find the right cam for any odd ball combination. Even mine, 372ci., 4-speed 3.09 first gear, 3.00 rear, 26in. tires

Thanks, I will give the Energy Suspension bushings a try. The ones I have are rubber and are small compared to the holes in the factory brackets and I had to run a drill bit thru them to just get the bolt in.

I just finally installed the motor in my '67 barracuda yesterday. And had more than a few problems with the cheap [or should I say Chinese] spool motor mounts. I have done some searching here on FABO and most people recommend poly mount vs. rubber. Are they as quiet and vibration free as rubber?

Forgot to mention. The early pulleys are 1/2” shorter and look stock. Industrial supply stores also carry bolts of the correct grade and length.

I also highly recommend OR Pushrods. The first set I ordered (Melling mpr157) to fit a T/A motor where not straight, the cups were not seated correctly and caused the pushrod to wobble. From what I have read on Fabo a lot of the other manufacturers have that problem.

I just went through the same issue with my 273 build. You need 1 1/2 to 2 threads exposed after 1 turn preload. I ordered mine from OE Pushrods. Excellent price and quality. Buy the way have overall and working length available when ordering. Working length= overall- cup depth.

What’s the cause of these grooves cut into the valve spring shims? They were part of the parts that came with a set of Edelbrock 60779 heads. The springs and the dampers look fine.

Well I measure each rocker and came up with an oal of 7.266 average, or a cup to ball length of 7.108. Krazykuda, you mentioned using the nut locking style of adjusters. how much do the affect push rod length?

I just made an adjustable push rod from a solid lifter push rod. Planning on checking each valve with the proper preload and averaging the lengths. Just want to have the correct starting point. I will take some pictures. Thanks for the compliment on the color.

It was decked and has Edelbrock heads and new a new cam. Tried a set of Melling mrp-157 7.234” push rod for the 340 t/a motor and they are almost touching the rockers.
