I don't know...I used a EZ wire in my street rod project and worked great.....never used a painless so I cant compare

they all put out around 14.3 volts.....even at idle.....It is only on initial startup that RPM must come above 1500 then you are good until you shut the car off again

Yes, the tuff stuff alternator I bought requires 1500 RPM to turn on and "excite" as Del said which actually means to start charging but once it hits that RPM it stays charging no matter what RPM you are at....It can go down to 6 or 7 hundred and still charges.....It is just from initial start...

I bought a chrome tuff stuff one....I like it and it looks great.....they make unchromed ones too for cheaper price.....they have 60 amp, 100 amp, 130 amp etc.etc.....also have single or double groove pulley.....just search summit and put this in the search box tuff stuff mopar alternator...

I would go with a REV-N-ATOR box if it was me....keep the stock look.... :popcorn:

its a starter relay with a red reset button on it.....the wire on the right with brown end is the neutral safety switch wire from the transmission...If trans isn't in neutral or park (grounding out rooster comb in trans) the car will also not start

change the chrome box out with rev-n-ator and your done...no wiring at all...no distributor changes....nothing...just set the desired rev limit on the box....where in the poconos are you? We are neighbors! :thumbsup:

yes that is key in the ignition buzzer with door open.....It is working the way it should.....personally I like things working as originally designed but if you don't like it. just unplug it as mentioned in previous posts, it is behind driver's side kick panel

They did that because they had real gas back then and also to try to get better emission numbers.....The stuff they call gas today is crap......You are good at 15 BTDC....mopars love as much timing as you can give them without pinging or starter kickback.....they just run better...I run 19...

73 was the same...mounted under dash and to the right of the ash tray....It was a light socket with a small black plastic shroud to project the light downward on the map....my original 73 dart sport still has it and it works.....here is a link to a pic of one that was for sale on this site...

quick test is put a wire on the NSS relay terminal and run in to negative battery terminal ....then turn key and see if it cranks...If it does your NSS is bad or shifter linkage is not adjusted properly or something wrong with the rooster comb in trans......but make sure car is in park or...

I know this thread is 2 years old but standard products S-99 or AC Delco LS181 are correct ....They have a long reach and take a 194 bulb....Can be had at the local auto parts store for about 6 bucks...Also BWD brand part number PT85 is the same thing

I have a rev-n-nator on my 73 dart 340 sport and i love it....I also have a NIB rev-n-nator ignition box on the shelf for my next project once I switch over to electronic ignition...It currently has points distributor so I currently have pertronix conversion on it...

Numbers matching refers to the the engine block stamped VIN and trans which all match.......Not some stupid starter that has the classic wind down and always has....Every mopar starter I heard has it.....Live with it or get a mini and quit whining....Not a big deal....This is one thing MA mopar...
