73 Dart dash lights

I was messing around today trying to replace the dash lights in my Dart. I figured out the lights are in little sockets that twist out from the back of the dash. A couple of questions for you guys. Can you still buy the sockets and if so are they special, or can you get them at autozone or advance? My other question, does the bulb just go in one way or is it possible to put it in backwards and it not work? I replaced the side marker lights the other day with sylvania LEDS and they have to go in a specific way. Not sure about the regular bulbs.

Yes the bulb sockets are available. Don't have either Autozone or Advance around here, but NAPA carries them. I believe they're 5/8".
I've never used LED auto bulbs and don't know if polarity matters, but standard bulbs can go in either way.

Thanks! These were standard bulbs, still not working. I think I'll try replacing the sockets as well.
