    Engine pull question

I had one like that at one time. I had to trim the bottom of the L portion that bolts to the head off. The parts that stick out was crashing into the fire wall. It also can be a tight fit if you are putting the bolts on the back of the heads.

    installing motor with headers on?

I am getting ready to install a 360 with 904 trans attached to the motor in my dart sport. Has anyone installed the motor from the top with the headers on or should I lay them in the engine compartment and install them afterwards. The car has Power steering and the column is already in. The...

    Magnum VS Hemi

why would the transmission on a magnum motor be an issue. You could just run a 904 or a 727 behind them with either a properly balanced flex plate or a torque converter weighted for the magnum engine. A few of the RT truck guys are changing over to them because of the better performance...

what would you do and why

fun weekend driver and maybe sometimes a trip or two to the track..nothing serious on the street, I have the dakota for that.

what would you do and why

The 1.7's are not adjustable but I will have to measure pushrods. I have done this before so its not a big deal to me.

what would you do and why

I have 2 different sets of heads right now in the garage that I want to put on the dart. Set 1 x heads with 273 adjustable rockers, New Eddy cam and lifters, springs Set 2 eq cylinder heads magnum style drilled for LA engine. 1.7 rockers (if I go this route I will check for PTV clearance...

    Swapping a 225 for a 360

the throttle cable did not work for my swap, I used a lokar one for that. The kick down I used the Bouchillon performance one as it was already setup with the correct brackets and everything.. Nothing against the lokar ones just there were some horror stories going around about not adjusting...

    Swapping a 225 for a 360

are you swapping a LA motor or a Magnum Motor in.. Carb or FI? What kind of brakes do you have now? How is your electrical system now? What rear end do you have? I did this swap a little while ago and am still finalizing it.. My list started out with just a simple 360 LA engine, trans and 8.75...

    hughes rockers

not sure on the spring pressure, however the hughes looks very similar to the harland sharp rockers. Might want to look at them. I run the non adjustables on my magnum motor which has a .528/.538 lift cam in it with mopar .600 lift springs.

    360 magnum

the 360 mags are a different weight then the 360 la blocks. All 360 mags were balanced the same, so you could see if there is a flywheel for a ram with a 360 from the same time and that should work.

more out of 5.9l 360 magnum

after you go through the heads and measure your clearances...what about doing a simple 1.7 rocker swap. Something like harland sharp makes a bolt on kit that once you make sure your push rods are the correct length is just a bolt on piece.

    nitrous on my kb 107s

I can not speak on the kb part but I have sprayed with both a single fogger and a plate on my truck. I perfer the fogger for my application, mine is fuel injected. The plate increased my plenum volume and I lost bottom end on my 408. The fogger worked the best for me. The KB's are hyper...

    Temp probe RPM Air Gap

if they work anything like my electric sending unit for the autometer gauges you may have to ground the sensor too. I had to on both my vehicles with aluminum intakes. I just wrap a band clamp around the sensor then ground the band clamp with a female spade connector to the end of it.

    Has anyone tried this?

the belly pan gasket is bad, it will pool oil in the bottom of the intake and decrease performance. The Throttle body will probably not help much unless he opened up the bores near the throttle blades and has put in new blades due to the increased size. The Jet chip is not a good idea it just...

    SB Magnum ????'s

Most of the guys change converters when they do a cam change. I think the guys with the sausage cam are going with like a 2400-2800 converter. I would also do a tune to get the most out of your cam, some will run a mopar performance computer, but a tune will get you the best out of the cam...

    SB Magnum ????'s

it runs better than the mopar cams that are being sold and it runs well on stock heads. Yes it is small but people are getting good performance out of their trucks with it.

    SB Magnum ????'s

if you want something to work with the stock heads, I would get on the dakota rt board and ask them about the sausage cam..its a .512 lift with 1.6's and I believe it was a 112 or a 114 cl. I am not sure the rest of the information on it but the magnum motors seem to like that cam without much...

    SB Magnum ????'s

with the intake you will likely loose some torque and gain some HP, the 1.7 harland sharp are what I would recommend as they have a bolt on design with no rocker adjustment, though if you do change a cam you will have to measure pushrods for it. The superchips is only going to advance your...

    SB Magnum ????'s

I think you are refering to the 2bbl intake done by mopar, its expensive, depending on where you want to take the performance to you might want to check out their 4bbl intake with 2 bbl adapter. I run one on my 408 because it flows more than the 2 bbl. mopar does sell the cams but there are...

    question on total timing

the engine is pretty much stock, has an ld48 intake, a 600 cfm holley and a cam a little larger than stock. thanks for the link

    question on total timing

I know mopar small blocks like around 32 to 35 degrees of total timing. Is that initial plus mechanical or Initial+ mechanical + vacuum advance. right now my engine is set at 8 degrees initial, 24 with the mechanical in full, and around 44 with the vacuum advance connected. It sounds like its...
