Thanks for the info....guess I should have looked it up before taking it into a shop. The specs they used look nothing like this. Guess I'll have to see if they will work with me, or if I'll need to find a different alignment shop. Thanks. Larry

After installing a Firm Feel steering box, pitman arm and new shocks on Bluefish, I finally got it to the alignment shock. They said it all went well, so I drove the car home and it drives horribly. After some checking, I found on their alignment sheets that they used specs for 1970-1974...

Thanks again, checked it when I got home and everything is still dry. Wish I could take Bluefish out this weekend....but we're having our typical crappy spring weather in Cincinnati. Had a week of 70 degree weather 2 weeks ago, everything bloomed and was looking great. Then the bottom dropped...

UPDATE : Looks like I may have gotten lucky. Recieved the seal kit yesterday for the control valve and installed it last night. Cleaned up all of the mess. Seems to have fixed the problem for now. Was not looking forward to removing the steering box, or the engine again if needed.

Thanks for the input....it's a 340 with stock exhaust manifolds, power steering and power brakes. Seems like everything is in the way, top or bottom. This has been a long term project car, was hoping to start driving it soon. On my first real test drive Saturday it starting blowing power...

Ran into some issues with my new steering box and may have to remove it. Was wondering if the box could be removed with the engine in place. Engine was out when the old box was removed and replaced.. Engine is a small block with factory exhaust manifolds. Initial check looks like the torsion...

I've got it close now, will check it again with the engine in place and the car on the ground. Then take it to the alignment shop. Guess I should have gotten in to it sooner, but had other issues with the car that seemed more important.

Thanks guys...everything went well today. Didn't even need the tools to move the tie rods. Managed to get the steering geometry centered , now have equal turns to the left and right. Steering column is back in. Ready to move on ...anxious to get the new engine in. Larry

Thanks for all of the input .... started soaking the tie rods and bought a set of adjusting tools. Hope to give it a try Saturday. The tie rods, center link and Pitman arm were new when I bought the car in 2005, so I hope they will break free and moce easily. I'd like to get this problem...

That"s the only thing I can think would cause this. The previous owner replaced the front suspension parts, including the Pitman arm. I've had the Pitman arm on and off a half dozen times, but each time I install it onto the center link the results are the same...too many turns to the right...
