    Manual Steering Box Seals

I bought my 20:1 worm gear from a member on SL6.org for a heck of a deal but Firm Feel sells them. The seals I mentioned are for a "small sector shaft" box, I believe '72 and older. The worm gear seal I believe is the same for all years, but the sector shaft gets bigger after '72, so it...

    Manual Steering Box Seals

Sorry for the tardy reply, been a bit busy... So I ended up using a SKF 7412 for the worm gear shaft and a SKF 11067 for the sector shaft seal (pitman arm shaft seal). I knew the SKF 7412 would be perfect for the worm gear shaft, but I had my doubts with the other seal. The SKF 11067...

    Manual Steering Box Seals

I just searched for 11067 on Rock Auto. It came up as a transmission input shaft seal, but the dimensions given matched so I took the gamble and purchased it along with the worm gear shaft seal, 7412. I'll report back if they both work. Should have them by Tuesday.

    Manual Steering Box Seals

So I finally have been able to get back to work on my Barracuda and I'd like to replace the seals in my manual steering box. I have searched around and I haven't been able to identify whether it's a big or small sector shaft box, but I do have this information: - It's a 1967 manual box...

    Poly Torsion Bar Boots

I got the poly ones to work way easy, here is how: 1) set the poly bushing facing up on a block of wood or flat concrete. 2) grease the hell out of it. 3) insert the torsion bar standing up. 4) smack the top if it with a 4 lb. sledge hammer, hard. 5) done, now celebrate with a 6 pack!

    Poly Torsion Bar Boots

That means I will have to take off the LCA's in order to be able to slide the torsion bars in from the front. I'll give it a try, thanks. PS: I'm sending the Energy Suspension ones back. Thanks!

    Poly Torsion Bar Boots

OK, so I am almost done assembling the front end on my Barracuda. I bought a set of poly torsion bar boots from Energy Suspension, I could not get those things to slide on, no matter how hard I tried. I just bought a set from Summit made by Prothane Motion Control, and they look very similar...

    73 K-Member question

Cool, it's BBP. Everything looks like it's in pretty good condition. The guy who delivered it was super chill. Do you guys recommend getting some stiffer torsion bars going BB? Thanks for the input! :D

    73 K-Member question

Hello, Since the last time I posted some questions, you guys here at FABO told me to ditch the '67 K-Member in my '67 Barracuda and look for a +'73 K-Member. I found a complete one with a power steering box and all the steering and brake components in order. The guys said he would deliver it to...
