Mine was froze shut, it was removed by me, after I removed the dead 273 and installed the rebuilt 318, into my 1964 Valiant. One less thing to act up, this was the second one I found frozen shut. :(

Try some copper or aluminum exhaust gaskets. Summit has them.

Yeah money is tight, thats why my car has the factory 273 manifolds on the 318 I built.

Sound deadner under the carpet rear seat helps a lot. My 1964 Valiant, and other cars I have owned had No carpet or padding under the rear seat. The mufflers are right under the rear seat, and the sound echos into the car. Here is a good place for sound deadner. http://www.raamaudio.com
