    i needa cam expert

You want to put a cam in the engine, cool, what are your rear gears, and tire size, so you know the RPM range the engine will be in. If your going to use a car for racing the cam to use, will be larger, than if your going to street drive it. Lots of stuff to consider to make a wise...

Oil Return Mods for HP Gains on Small Block

What are you going to use the engine for? NHRA type drag racing, towing a heavy trailer, snow plow/work truck?? A windage tray is all you really need, the factory oiling is pretty good, Milodon makes one too. Perhaps a Mellings oil pump would be a good idea. I suggest using the Mopar...

    Maximum rpm for SB

rpm? eleventy billion, sounds familiar?? LOL< depends on cam, valve springs, and crank,{forged/cast} as well as the quality of the balance,of the engines rebuild; and the crank dampener/harmonic balancer. 5,500-6,200 I would say is the normal "street" limit. The more cid,the...

    Maximum rpm for SB

eleventy billion??? Nahh. You want high revs? Go talk to Kyle Petty, etc. ask what they do for the Coca Cola 600 race. If you have not put 4.10's in the car yet, i suggest 3.73 as a compromise. :) Which cam do you plan on using?

bah, can't trust anyone these days

What is in the car now? Points? Your car will run better. If your steet driving the car, the plugs will burn hotter, and burn the fuel more efficiently. In 1971 Mopar started to use Electronic Ignition, in some of the high performance engine'd cars. :thumblef: By 1973 as far...

    headers or not to headers

I think a good dual exhaust off the stock manifolds, is very fine for a street car. TTI headers are about $700.00. aprox 15 hp over dual exhaust is not worth that to me. http://moparmusclemagazine.com/techarticles/155_0307_exhaust/
