Where to put the air compressor?

I have a 60 gallon verticle that I put in the enclosed tool room (5x10) at the rear of my shop. Big mistake. Even with a good fan pulling in outside air and leaving the door open it heats up quickly (middle Georgia). When it gets hot it pumps a lot of water. As for isolators, it was shipped...

    Floor Coatings Questions

I have done two garages now. Several years back after completing construction of a detached garage I used a pricey two part epoxy. It was a total bust. The concrete had cured maybe six months when I put it down, maybe that wasn't long enough. Stuff started peeling up within a couple years...

    DIY windage tray bolts

Do you have a pic of what you are trying to accomplish? May be something I could whip up cheap in the machine shop. There you go - Personally I would not trust "my" welding to something going into the oil pan - too much risk for me... C

Need some help with wiring (House)

I am not an electrician, and will not try to recommend a wiring diagram. What I will recommend, though, is putting a timer switch on the fan. I remodeled our master bath last year and installed two, for two separate fans. I consider it one of the best upgrades I done! Put it on 30 minutes...

Does it pull the wire smoothly? I had a cheapo chinese welder that I could never get to feed the wire smooth. A couple feet and then it would start to drag and mess up the weld. C

    Blast gun recommendations

Hey Rob, I just upgraded to the TP Tools kit that DuBob linked to. I have used the pick up tube, but I haven't swapped out the gun yet. Just the tube made a big difference. It doesn't chug along, it spays a steady stream now. Don't know why you would go through ceramic tips so quickly...

    Toolbox Pics

68 - no problem, I suffer from them myself more than I care to admit! I found some suitable replacements on eBay for about $3 each and a couple bucks shipping. They were listed as a draw pull latch, model E201. I think I got them from an RV sales place on eBay. They are not identical, they...

68 - most of the hinges were ok. There were two boxes that the hinges were froze up on, but after a bath in the electrolysis the hinges were freed up! You can get long lengths of piano hinge from woodworking supply places though that you just cut to length with sheet metal shears. C

    Toolbox Pics

I was given some old rusty tool boxes last summer and tried my hand at rust removal by electrolysis. I think they come out pretty good. None of them had trays, so I recently made trays for all of them. The one I keep in the Duster needed a little dressing up... There were five boxes total...

Best thing to do to your blasting cabinet.

Leanna, nice to see you contributing to this thread! Nice cabinet you have there. When you have a long item that doesn't fit into the cabinet, do you just leave the one door open or do you try to hang something up to keep most of your media in the cabinet? Just curious, C

    Tool boxes, part II

Last summer I posted a short thread on saving some rusty old tool boxes that were going to be thrown out. That thread is here: http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=281521&highlight=tool+box I have been wanting a box brake for quite awhile now, so after a big Christmas with my...

Best thing to do to your blasting cabinet.

Here are a couple suggestions, for what they are worth. Keep in mind, sometimes advice is worth what you pay for it... Regarding lights. I have the H.F. bench top cabinet. Not big, but I have blasted a lot of stuff with it. Total restore of two cars and now I do glass & mirror etching. I...

Metal Buildings, best company to use, also wood construction ?s

Where in GA are you located? There is a metal roofing co. in Macon, part of a chain with a couple other stores I think. The metal is thicker and much better than what you will find at Lowes or Home Depot. Also, you get the metal cut to length that you need. 12' for the walls, or 40' for the...

    Tool box save!

Morning folks, My neighbor inherited several old rusty tool boxes and was preparing to throw them out. He gave them to me and I set about seeing what I could do. Electrolysis removed most all of the rust and then I painted them up and oiled the hinges. One was too rusty to save, I gave one...

    Kawasaki Bench Grinders

Evening folks, My old B&D bench grinder has seen it's best days and it is time to upgrade. Was looking at a Dewalt 756 (6") when I ran across a Kawasaki on the Home Depot site. A little less amps (4 vs. 3.5) but almost half the cost. Anyone have one? Like it? I also seen a Shop Fox 3.5 amp...
