Installed rubber hood to radiator seal but clips keep popping out

Those Christmas trees (your first pic) come in all sorts of different sizes. Step up to a larger size for those holes they pop out of. C

I recommend a pro to do it. Some pros may not even take the job. My guy had to make 4 trips out before we got it sealed. C

    Best wax consensus?

Let me add to your confusion. I have two cars that I restored, done about 9 and 4 years ago. Neither of them have ever been waxed. I do wash them with waterless car wash, either Griot*s Garage or Wash Wax All. Both of these cars have a finish so slick that nothing sticks to them. C

    72 Duster Tail light refurbish

I don't recall how they came apart right offhand, and I am not at home where I can check for you. I did separate mine and shot the inside of the bucket with some silver or aluminum paint cleaned up the lens and shot the outside edge with John Deere blitz black. They look good and you can see...

    water leaking into trunk

If you haven't done it before, start at the bottom. Hose down the tail light area only. If no leak, move up to the lower corner of the trunk lid. Still no water move up to the top of the trunk lid. Then just the lower corner of the rear window, then bottom of rear window, then half way up...

Paint Help - Fading? Can't tell

I agree with sireland67. The chance of having the correct color match to a 4 year old paint job is not to good, unless you are really good at it. If there is thick primer on there hiding something, what would you do once it was uncovered? I would drive it and keep it clean and waxed until it...

Paint Help - Fading? Can't tell

How long has that blotch been there? That does look like clear coat beginning to fail. In the first pic of the scratches, where was the pic taken? Under florescent lights those sanding scratches are much more noticeable. C

    Home painted ,car guys.....

Your thoughts,on home brewed bodywork, paint ,&; patience Getting back to the basic question; if you have the basic tools and the patience you can achieve darn good bodywork. That's the foundation of a good or great paint job. Most of us have the same thing the body shop uses - sandpaper...

    Prime & Paint underside questions

I've got to ask, you went to all that work; just to blast Rustoleum over it? :mindblown: IMHO would have just left it alone. Well, that's just my anal self! I had it on a rotisserie, so access to the bottom and application by brush was very easy. And, she's not a trailer queen. One of...

    Prime & Paint underside questions

That is a good way to describe my car also. What I used was Rustoleum Hammered Finish paint. I applied two coats with a brush. I used black and some gray. I also used it on the rear axle. I've used this paint before and it is tough as nails. It can be applied to rust, but I sandblasted any...
