After doing the patch panels on Jake's 2002 Ram, we decided to make our 1st attempt at painting our 1st vehicle. Promised the wife when we're done next weekend, she won't be able to tell we had a paint booth. Jake has been picking away at the rest of the body for the last couple of weeks. Yestrday we made the "blue tarp special" paint booth off the side of the garage because the garage is attached to the house. The tarp reflection makes it look blue, but it is Summit's grey epoxy. This afternoon, we are going to cut in the door and tailgate jambs.

Nice work! I love do it yourselfers!! I would love to smooth out some dings and throw a 20ft paint job on my dart but I don't have the guts to do it myself! Good job guys!

Nice progress. Keep us posted!

I've always wanted to paint my own stuff..... My son beat me to it. I would have liked to learn on a smaller vehicle, but hey - go big or go back in the house....lol

I have seen some amazing things done in a driveway with rattle cans and plenty of wet sanding

Jambs are done..... the quart can came in last week with the primer. The gallon is supposed to be here this Wednesday or Thursday. Next weekend we lay the color. Here's a teaser for ya...... looks pretty good for a rookie.

The reveal.......
We were hoping for a 20 footer. At this point I'd say we have a legitimate

15 footer. Yay for us. A light orange peel to it. He might wet sand and buff it out.

That is awesome. Thanks for sharing.. I am planning on having a temporary paint booth as well.
