ROAD TRIP member needs help!! Bothell, Washington to Williams Lake, BC, Canada

I've found a complete rear end, semi-close to Drache(OK, it's in the same province) the guy wants $300, then there's shipping to Williams Lake. It's about a six hour drive, not sure of the mileage. If this will work, I'll contact the guy and let him know. I'm too far away to handle it...

Is this worth the asking price?

Both are priced well, IMO. If you go for the car instead, how about throwing the number for the rear my way :D. It's gonna cost me at least that much to have mine cut down to size. And 8 hrs from your place either puts it close to me, or terribly far, lol.

    Does anyone here speak French?

Then you'd love my cousin's car. Totally restored 1956 Bug, with a HP 2.0L and twin Delorto's. This thing screams. It's one of four vintage Bugs that he owns. One 'Vert, two ovals and a split window. This one has the stock roof rack and he transports his racing bike on it to downhill races.

    People think Mopar is slow??

Ya, they're idiots, it goes with the territory. But why put a V-8 in a Mazda? Those Rotary engines are kickass. You can do so much to them, and they just scream. Built correctly, they'll blow any small block away.

What Did You Learn To Drive In

I did most of my learning/practice in my Mom's 1973 AMC Hornet Sportabout wagon. 258 inline six, auto. I had a lot of fun in that car(nudge, nudge, wink, wink), maybe why I like wagons so much. I did drive my grandma's old early '70's Corolla while away on vacation, before I got my license...

When Did You Drive Your First.....................

My first time driving a manual tranny was when I worked for an Autobody Supply store. I locked the keys in the van that I normally drove and had to take the '74 Dodge PU about 20 miles to Head Office to grab the spare keys. I was used to dirt bikes, so the concept was fine, but the actual usage...

    What would you do?

I'm another one that's not into 'Verts, but I love wagons =P~. There are some way cool wagons out there, and I'm sure that you could make one, too. But back to the 'Vert, here's one that a local Mopar guru put together with the 5.7L Hemi.

    Thank you all.....

Gee, Dave, don't tell her that. One was enough. Great to hear that you're on the rebound and being your cheerful self, Tammy. Take it one day at a time, and soon it'll be all but a far off memory. Have a Happy Thanksgiving

    NEW FABO T-Shirt Available!

Ordered today. The orange sure looks better in the pic, than the mock-up one does. Pretty soon, I'll be able to wear one a day for the whole week .

    Lie To Me?

Ya, I saw that last night. Pretty sweet Scamp :love7:. Looked to be almost a Burnt Orange car, but maybe a lighter tone.

mickey mouse and good ol jerry rigs

Done that on two cars, one Austin Mini and a Mazda 808. We used a ratchet strap to hold the broken tie-rod end together on an '87 F250 4X4 for the 20 km trip down the mountain to the highway so the tow truck could find us. It was a long, slow drive but it held together. Of course, there was no...

    Chargeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Bingo! Why do they have to put that crappy grille on every vehicle that they produce? (except the Chally, of course) :angry7: The car does look better than previous incarnations, but that grille has got to go. Why have the same grille on a work truck, a grocery getter, and what's supposed to...

My 1979 Brazilian Dodge Dart is now going home !!!!

Hi Buz, That's a really nice little Dart you have there. So, your family owned it since it was new, and then gave it to a museum? Did you have to buy it back, or did they no longer have the need to keep it and just gave it back to you? That's quite the story. It's nice to see the Mopar...

    Could it really be?

It had been over 20 years since I last owned an old Mopar. The very first thing that I bought when I got my Dart, was a spare ballast resistor. Once you've had one go, you know to always keep a spare in the glove box. And come back any time. :-D

Scored some parts for the Fargo.

Good score, Mike. That sure was a heck of a ferry fiasco. Don't ya just love 'em? Where abouts was this guy? Surrey, Coquitlam ? I thought that I'd found a guy here that had a tailgate for you, but it was just a Dodge one. You going back to Alberta soon?

    Many pics

Did the pics ever end? I gave up after a while. Some really nice cars, for sure. I recognized KP's Duster/Demon, so there must be others here that have a car in that group. I was digging that '65 HyperPak Dart.

Any canadians get there FABO T yet?

You lucky dog, Bill. Had a nice chat with Nora, but no shirts. She's lucky too, she gets to go and see Aerosmith on Thursday night. So, which one of us will be last to get our treasured FABO shirt? I guess that living in Paradise has it's advantages, but it takes longer to get stuff. Still...

I'm on my way down to the Post Office shortly. I hope that I'll have good news to share =P~. But at least I get to chat up the sexy Postmistress :toothy10:.

Any canadians get there FABO T yet?

I didn't check today, I'll go tomorrow. But if you guys back east haven't got them yet, I'm sure I won't see them until next week or so. Can't hardly wait.

Would you buy a ticket in a raffle for Hauks Demon?

I've always wanted a Demon =P~. Loved those taillights since I was a kid. OK, a teenager, but that's still a kid to me :-D. Man oh man, the wife would kill me. But I can take it.

Only a face a mother could love?

That's just too cool, Keith. The front end, well, it's OK, but the butt, now that's cool. Love the wrap-around spoiler and inset rear door. And the jump seat, boy I remember those back in the day. And if I ever find a 69 B-body wagon, well, guess I'll need a second garage. =P~

    My Duster is a nuisance...

Drive it. Drive it every day. Don't let pea-brained idiots dictate what you can do. I'm surprised that a cop actually showed up for such an insignificant complaint. Unless it was his kid. :toothy10: Twice I've had people complain to me about driving my Dart too fast. Both of them live just on...

Driver side legroom in a 65 Barracuda

Ya, you should be just fine. I have a '65 Dart, same dimensions more or less, and I'm 6'3" and 250#. I also have a '95 "Ranger", OK it's a Mazda B-2300, but it's the same as a Ranger. I know what you mean about some cars. My old boss had a Cadillac STS, it was way too small for me. No way...

    300 pic's.....ok 10 of 300

Wow, thanks, OC  That's another way cool wagon. And it has the same rear doors, without an outer handle. Am I to assume that they work like suicide doors? Maybe with a handle where it would latch to the front door? And I like that Charger 'Vert, they never actually made one, did they?

    300 pic's.....ok 10 of 300

Great pic, thanks for sharing. Just love that wagon, got any more shots of it? Is it still a four door? I'm sure that there is one of those intake manifolds, or there was, in the for sale section. Is it an STR-10, or something like that? Boy, I sure wish we had an event of that magnum-tude...

    FABO banners

These are great, guys. I bought one from Scott over a year ago. It sits on the package tray of the Dart at any car show we go to, to support the site and try and recruit new members.

HUGE news!!! ( mopar muscle magazine )

Way to go, Young Gun. Nice job, it must feel good to get some recognition. I'm sure that your dad is proud of you. I hope that I can get that mag up here. I'll have to check it out. Keep us posted. Some of us are old, and forgetful.
