I think of a survivor car as a regularly driven car in mostly stock condition, but I think you make good point that it may be away for sellers to exaggerate the value of an otherwise unremarkable car. I have seen some survivor cars that just looked worn out and needing repair.

vans and pickups in the 80's used the a833 trans. the overdrive unit that i had in my 84 d150 had a very wide ratio but it was good for gas mileage. also that trans used the hurst shifter parts that are easily available. a good one to get!

the 2.4 engine is a proven engine in those cars and seemsto give no trouble if not abused. the v-6 is a pretty tight fit and more difficult to work on. avoid the 2.7 v-6 in any chrysler.
