My car had some sag without the connectors and the drivers door stuck a little bit. I noticed that the doors closed perfectly when I had it on four jack stands under the frame rails. That is how I set it up to weld in my connectors. I can close my doors with one finger now.

That's what I love about this site, when I have a question, you guys usually already answered it. I just bought the rebuild kit off ebay and replacing ball joints and bushings. At the risk of highjacking the thread, How do you get the bushings out of the A arm?

I took a look and did see a little cracking in the welds below the door sill, see picture. Frame connectors are on order and I'll redo the welds when I start the body work. The door hinges are solid as a rock.

The guy I got the car from was about 340 but I think he didn't drive the car much in that condition, he could barely move. I'm 6'3" and right around 260 but I can fool those weight guessers at the carnival because I carry it well.

If you are referring to bleeding the brakes, you should start with the wheel farthest from the master cylinder and work in. For American LH drive - right rear, left rear, right front, left front. I don't believe brake bleeding will cure his problem though. Sounds more like a bad caliper or...

brakes sticking when hot will definitely cause the car to pull. I would make sure the brakes are fixed correctly first before looking for other problems.

I thought we were talking drum brakes, but replacing a missing dust cover is another big clue that something may be amiss.

This will probably get me in trouble with some of the professional mechanics on here but here goes; they had to remove the wheel bearings to get at the brakes. they should have inspected, cleaned and repacked (grease replacement) them. a good mechanic would be able to tell if they were bad...

sounds like the brake people didn't repack the bearings, put them on too tight, or not tight enough. I agree with redfish, you need to have a talk with them.

So how did you fix it? I think I'll replace mine just for the peace of mind if the parts can be found.
