I ridid the dash because I have a melt down in the main harness. The meter was pegged full. I guess I'll bypass it. It just seems like good in insurance. It may have messed up or weakened the factory gauge. Thanks guys for the quick responses.

I will have to try a jumper wire. Witch prongs do I jump? I got 1 prong on the left and 3 prongs on the right. What prong on the right side do I jump to the left?

Just pulled and installed the whole dash structure. I had the dash harness out all together to paint my structure. I tried another resistor with same results.

I have a. 73 duster, ac car but not hooked up. My heater fan switch does not work unless I take the resistor out and put the coils together on the resistor. This tells me that something is messed up back through the system. Could it be a bad fan switch or something else. I think the fan switch...

Make sure the bottom side of the fender is clean where the c clamp fits against the underside, and also make sure your chrome bezel nut is tight on top of the fender. That is a ground area. Is your antenna mast screwed on tight?

Check your ground wires under the dash also. Mine did the same thing.

Mine did the same thing. Ended up be the ground wire under the dash. Mine only sparked when you turn off. Good luck.

A big hats off to everyone that helped. I did the test that 273 said and had a harness drop. Turns out it was just the ground wire from the coil to the dash. Three nights of scratching our heads for a damn ground wire. But hey , we got it. Thanks again, mike

Replaced everything ballast, coil, control box, and distributor, all with new parts I have spark when key goes to run position and when you go to off. What the hells my problem?
